Charles Shultz was a genius.
How else could one explain Peanuts?
I am really looking forward to watching The Peanuts Movie
Read a couple of reviews on it like The Peanuts Movie is surprisingly good, but it gets one big thing wrong
Which two characters shouldn't be the same age?
Unless it was pointed out I wouldn't know or care. No problem as he is just doing what critics do. I am a big fan of reading of movie inconsistencies.
This injecting progressive policy is as absurd as Film colorization
Like most classic jokes, “Peanuts isn’t so much funny as mildly amusing, which is evidently one of the many aspects of Schulz’s legacy that his son Craig and grandson Bryan fought to protect as screenwriters and producers on the film (presumably trumping their genuinely hilarious collaborator, Paul Feig, also credited as a producer alongside co-writer Cornelius Uliano). But a little modernization wouldn’t have hurt, especially in the diversity department. While Franklin remains Charlie Brown’s only brown friend, a non-white love interest would have been as progressive as Schulz’s tomboyish depiction of Peppermint Patty was back in the day.

Why not air brush the Mona Lisa?

Even Peanuts evolves. There are plenty of archived movies/stories of Peanuts and the gang to watch if you don't wish to see change. Time allows for change and many story listeners/watchers look for change. Many of us might prefer to see Peanuts dealing with the 21st century now, since we've seen the 20th century Peanuts.
I know I'm different now than I was 25 years ago, Peanuts would be as well.
That's the difference between progress and conservatism. Us progressives invite change while most conservatives are afraid of it and denounce it.

Really?
And you are the one to make that determination? I just don't see an honored cartoon strip being made the tool for political advantage.

Explain the progress in corrupting a cartoon for progressive goals.

lol. You beat me to it. But, yeah, politics has always played a subdued role in Peanuts. I love it as much today as 45 years ago. I do remember some controversies, Peppermint Patty was one, and there was something about the Vietnam War too.
Health care, gun control, the environment, and racial equality were all topics broached by Charles M. Schulz in the fifty years he created the Peanuts comic strip. His beloved Peanuts characters raised issues of the day: Lucy embraced feminist philosophies, Linus panicked when he mistook snow for nuclear fallout, and Sally whispered about praying in school. Schulz also introduced Franklin, a black Peanuts character, into the predominately white cast July 31, 1968, just months after Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee.

Well, I don't believe the average person wants to go and watch a Peanuts Movie loaded with politics.
Can't we give it a rest and everybody get along?

Sure. I haven't yet seen the movie, but I am sure that at some point the great grandkids will want to see it. They don't care much about politics.

It's not like most people, especially young people, realize the political inferences in cartoons. Case in point, the OP didn't even know that the thing was loaded with it from the outset.

And what's more, he loves a cartoon in which its creator was a progressive liberal. :-3

Well, gee whizz.
Not really sorry to disappoint ya all, but don't remember the politics at all. I liked the strip but was not fanatic about it.
All I am saying is that leave it alone.
Seems to me promoted as a family show, simply as entertainment.
