The Changing face of Britain and the World?

Post by Bruv »

There is no doubt the face of Europe and the UK has changed massively over the past 20 years. The town I moved out of London to settle in 40 odd years ago has altered amazingly. We now have a Nepalese restaurant and many Nepalese shops and a hairdresser, several Polish shops and all the super markets have Polish sections. We also have butcher that is staffed by middle eastern looking men that sell African type goods, plantains, strange fish, odd shaped exotic vegetables. And of course there is an ex-public house just down the road from my house that is now a Mosque

My wife and I used to run an African shop, the Muslim guy living opposite, would pop in sometimes and buy sweets for his young daughters, he asked if they were halal, then said it wouldn't matter this time.He would dress in his own attire to drive a couple of hundred yards to the Mosque, while his wife would remain at an upstairs window watching the world go by.

Now.................what am I getting at here ?

Should we be concerned about these changes ?
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

I am concerned at the SCALE and the PACE of these changes. Sure, a small admixture of foreign culture is OK, but the sheer scale/pace of this change

is cause for concern. Personally, I think it's driven by industrialists and governments looking for, amongst other things, cheap labour, regardless of the consequences of forced multiculturalism; after all, if it all goes wrong they have plenty of property portfolios, stocks/bonds they can cash to fund a new life well away from the chaos they have caused! Have you? I know I haven't....Maybe those that support the government propaganda of "Multiculturalism/mass immigration is good for us" had better start praying that it does turn out right!

I must admit, I'm more than a little concerned about the vast changes to our social and political landscape that have been foisted upon us without a 'by your leave'. We never got a chance to vote on any of thee issues, probably because we would have said a resounding "no"!!

Democracy?

I think not!

"Democracy" in this country consists of getting a vote once every five years or so on which lying, crooked arseholes we're going to elect to abuse us this time round in our name!!

It's a fact that change is the one constant in life. I know that the world in which I grew up does not exist, anymore. But then, I am not sure that I would really want to live in that world. Like it or not, the world we find ourselves in was inevitable. And many of us resisted the change, fought it tooth and nail, and made it much harder than it needed to be.

Some of the problems we encounter are a result of that resistance. Immigrants were pushed into their own enclaves, marginalized by the the natives, and ignored for generations, left to figure things out for themselves. They grew into separate communities, and became their own entities within the greater system. Now the new people come in and find these communities, and contribute to the isolation, until the inevitable confrontations occur.

Instead of British Society, or American Society, or Canadian Society, we have Hyphenated Societies, looking to maintain their own identities in the the mix.

Then there are those like that steaming pile in the White House who pledged

Thank you, Mr. President, we are so much better off today :-3

Perhaps with some leadership, , , ,

Fortunately out here we don't have a problem with malaria, but we do with West Nile virus (WNV)

I've read of this Florida Health Officials Hope To Test GMO Mosquitoes This Spring

Does me no good when I go out fishing fruitlessly swatting at them. With that said I look forward to such technology.

But then who wants Frankensquitos unleashed on the planet?

Growing up I remember reading the book The Population Bomb

Not important at the time why I dismissed the conclusions, but now 45 years later the climate has changed.

Now the problem is to each country what is most important to their sovereignty, if sovereignty matters at all.
