its only grumpy and yes i know its not my column day but i had to post this as a special as it cant wait untill sunday.

Asad Shah, 40 - who was found dead in Glasgow at around 9pm on Thursday night - made a final Facebook post saying "Happy Easter to my beloved Christian nation"

police have arrested a man in connection with the 'religiously motivated' death of popular shopkeeper Asad Shah.

The 40-year-old was found dead inside his shop in the Shawlands area of Glasgow at around 9pm on Thursday night.

Police Scotland have said they are treating the Muslim man's death as "religiously prejudiced The Scottish Daily Record reports a 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his death.

A police spokeman added: “A full investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death which is being treated as religiously prejudiced.

Flowers were laid outside the police cordon with heartfelt messages about the popular shopkeeper One card read: “Thank you for being the nicest guy on the planet.

The attack took place at Shah’s Newsagent and Convenience Store on Minard Road – near Crosmyloof train station.

Asad was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University hospital but sadly died a short time later A second man, aged 32, was also injured in the incident and is described as “stable.

A tragic final message, posted on Mr Shah's Facebook account the day before his death, said: "Good Friday and a very Happy Easter, especially to my beloved Christian nation Let's follow the real footstep of beloved holy Jesus Christ and get the real success in both worlds."

its not good friday but more like black friday over the needless stabbing of a muslim shopkeeper if anything is likely to raise racial tensions this is.

this hardworking muslim ( and no offence intended in these next lines)

who probably followed allah and the koran religously posted on facebook wishing christians happy good friday and a happy easter and get sucess in both worlds wether that meant here and then the hereafter or the christian and muslim koran world we will never know but it proves not all muslims are bad muslims personally i wish everyone was like this guy

and the uk would be a better place in fact it was before all this immigration and interference in countries we dont belong and the rise of isis

muslims and christians lived side by side without racial tensions the balance needs to be restored but i dare say mr shah would not want it done with violence we just need a government with some backbone and an idea of how to tackle the problem.

it doesnt go on to say what ethnic background the attacker is wether he be a racist christian or muslim fanatic who killed mr shah for the FB post

only time will will tell .

Have they said why they are calling it religiously prejudiced? Did the second victim make a statement and if so, why aren't the police giving it out?

Could have just been a robbery attempt gone wrong.

You really need to give the po0lice time to investigate real life isn't like an episode of csi where you kinow the answers in half an hour.

All those involved were muslim. It was either sectarian sunni/shia or twi fundamentalists having a go at a moderate.

That statement doesn't make any sense or shows a great deal of ignorance. Christians and muslims come in all shades black muslim or black christian ? There are plenty of blue eyed blond muslims living in eastern europe, arab muslim or iranian muslim is that a racist conflict?

Race is a social construct both islam and christian used their books to justify african slavery the toxic legacy of the chrfistian version can be best seen in the US. The convict in serbia had bugger all to do ith rtace but everything to do with religion. Unlike mostb of the cities in england the east african immigrants let in as a sop to imperialists clinging to the tattered robes of empire integrated quite well to the extent there is a muslim MP and muslim msp's elected in glasgow. Throuigh recentkly thered has n=been a move to keep the pakis out of locak constituency parties.

Nor I with you. It's a mistake many people make to conflate ethnicity with religion. Race is a social construct that came in to being to justify ***** slavery. A surprising number of the early saints were black/***** whawt ever the PC term now is, most notably saint maurice the patron saint of infantry a fact many christians are unaware off especially the racist ones. It's a great way to wind them up.

I suspect this will be either shia/sunni or fundamentalist/ moderate. meanwhile the papes and proddies are still at it.

It reminds me of some crabby woman I came across on the bus once. She was spouting off about all the foreigners coming into a White Christian country. Then I pointed out that Jesus, himself, was from the Middle East & would not, therefore, have been considered White. She then shouted "HOW DARE YOU", and started ranting about how Jesus was White, totally oblivious to the fact that the rest of the people on the bus were creased up laughing at her.

Out of all Religions I find that Christianity is probably the most hypocritical of them all.

Sad. Now there is also the attack in Pakistan. I must admit when someone tells me I should respect religious belief I want to smack them, but i don't because I mak my own moral decisions.

Bear in mind that while cathokic and protestant church leaders condemned the charlie hebdo murders and other attacks they also said the attack was provoked because they dierespected the religion and people should not criticise religion and religioius belief because it's disrespectful.

Our local mosque is an old pub, funnily enough.
