A bit of excitement down this way yesterday morning. I thought it was the thunderstorm we so desperately need at the moment...

That may be the least competent use of the word "dozens" that I've ever seen... "A huge blaze broke out at a shop in Southampton, setting off dozens of fireworks stored inside."

The word they're looking for is thousands.

Dozens of crates perhaps. To be honest, I was always surprised they were allowed to operate there. It's an extremely densely populated residential area. Before I passed my Bike test I used to go past there every day, on my way to work.

There wasn't even much the Fire Services could do, other than wait until most of it had burned itself out, as gunpowder provides its own oxygen supply.

The factory is about a mile away from where I live, but the explosion literally shook my flat.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service group commander Howard Watts said: "It was a challenging scene when we arrived - with all the explosions we couldn't get too close to the fire"

Indeed, much more challenging than the cat up the tree last week.

I found it funny that with the BBC film footage, at the moment of the explosion the cameraman clearly got blown backwards.

Or he did a rapid re-think if it were wise to be there.
