My husband decided to make supper tonight around 7pm. Had a taste for BLT's. He fried the bacon, built the sandwiches and we ate. Should have known better not to fry bacon at this time of the evening in our neck of the woods, since we are plentiful with wildlife.
Well....we hear foot steps on our back deck. My dog starts his little woofing jag, to let us know that something is out there. I turn the deck lights on, peek through the drapes and look out through the glass door to see....a huge black bear sitting on his butt looking back at me! Sure was exciting moment!

A bear in your garden is definatly worse than any thing we have in OZ, I couldn't live there I would be terrified of them.:-3 What did you do with it, couldn't it break your door down or come in through a window

Jasmund....Yeah, you could say we live in the back part of the call of the wild. 30 years we've lived here and love every minute of it! It's not unusal to see any kind of animal here.
The aroma of the bacon drew the bruin to the deck. Even bring the bird feeders in before dark.
It's just that time of year where the bears are beefing themselves up for their long winters nap, so they are looking for grub where ever they can find it.
Orangesox1....we've never had any bears try to break in to our home. When I turned the deck lights on, he just decided to get up and walk back down the steps and we didn't see him after that. To me, it's more exciting then scary. Guess because we've lived here so long and are just use to them coming and going.
