You have free speech and freedom to express yourself. But your employer has the freedom to separate you from them, at any time.

She may be able to take them to court over it, but she may decide to just move on.

Me, I'd go apply to the competition.

That's fine if you've good skills and there's competition to go to and employers have no agreement among themselves. But it could easily mean there are people who don't dare express their real opinion because they cannot risk being fired. In fact there pretty much have to be, and that doesn't feel right.

Hardly free speech if your employer can sack you if he doesn't agree.

They didn't need to pretend it was for bad work.

Most companies, these days have a "social media policy" and they can defend their corporate image.

I removed my current company from my FB profile, just so that my political rants would not be an excuse for my "separation"

This woman, however, never represented herself as an employee of that company, and she may have a case to pursue to receive compensation, though that "Employment-at-will Clause" may protect the company.

And that Freedom of Expression idea in the Constitution? It really, in fact, only protects you from government prosecution for your expression of opinion.

She may have already been armed.

We have a right to own guns. That really does not give us the right to actually shoot anyone.

Nah.

She has probably already seen the opportunities afforded her by this event, and is making plans to capitalize on the thing.

So what kind of idiots in virginia vote for politicians that favour at will contracts?

Over here we call them brexiteers although most of them haven't worked out that will be one of the consequences of their decision.

I have dreams of slapping his face.............The chair? She shouldn't have said anything.... WE all know what she was doing BUT ... She's also in the process of signalling a turn. (shrugs, works for me)

I don't think she should worry about another job .

Davis has just appointed Callanan to a post in his department. Callanan has a previous record of being against paid holidays and protections for pregnant women at work (according to the New European) and has been appointed from the Lords.

If you look at all the oppressive european laws that tie the hands of business - according to the brexiteers - that they want to get rid of many of them relate to employment protection and health and safety. The latter has been made in to a joke but the reduction in the number of workplece deaths and injuries tells it's own story.

Free speech, yes. But your employer is also free to hire and fire who they want. If you cuss out a customer at work, wouldn't you get fired? I know most anyone would. Flipping off the President of the US? Yeah, I'd say that's worthy of losing your job.

She wasn't fired for flippin the Prez off. She was fired because the company didn't want the attention. Of course by dismissing her, they probably got even more.

I'm surprised the so-called Christians can support a man so corrupt he tells rich kids he can grab women by the pussy and they will do nothing because he's proud of it and want to show of his power. He's completely corrupt in his business dealings and his personal life and totally and completely unrepentant (he regards his corruption as success) but yet the so-called Christians accept him as their new leader to the promised land and follow him blindly.

I suppose the conclusion I have reached is that Christians who support him have been fooled like brexiters over here - and by much the same people. Or they are Christians in the same way the Spanish Inquisition was Christian: as a Christian thinker here once put it, evil done in the name of God is worship of Satan.

Maybe they could put more holes in the individual stones? Seems a bit of a waste of good stones though.....Hey maybe they could use them as a foundation for a new swamp city?
