Could this be a new way to find god?

Post by gmc »

The paper, published in the Journal of Sex Research, found people who never watched porn were the most pious and had the fewest doubts about their faith.

However, among people who indulge in “higher levels of pornography viewing” – defined as once a week or more – Dr Perry found an increase in spirituality and fewer religious doubts than in moderate viewers.

People who watch porn more than once a week become more religious over time, study finds | The Independent

beowulf, thanks for answering that age-old question, causing so many to burn with curiosity. Now, the plot of the cinematic event will take the primary focus as it so richly deserves.

Yes they do. All faces will be in heaven; All peoples, all races, all of the humans ever who lived will be there freely and live eternally with God.

:yh_rotfl I just knew you would rise to the bait. I now have an image of the po faced standing round wondering what are they all doing here. Maybe irony is the way.

I am one of the poor faces , so I know the mercy and love involved in this, but I also know that others like yourself will make fun of it; such is human nature.

Well excuse my lack of understanding the difference. I often have troubles following cross culture insults.

To be fair, po faced is not an insult, gmc was, I think, describing the confusion of the, for example, Hindus, Muslims and atheists finding themselves in a Christian Heaven being welcomed by the Christian God.

Unless, as I do, you read "in my father's place there are many mansions" as saying that Heaven consists of many areas, one for Christians, One for Hindus, one for Muslims etc - there being one God and the different religions focus on different aspects of the same God.

it is not an insult , simply my misunderstanding of it. In my view, the " Many Mansions" , means just that- big mansions to live in. And in God's kingdom, in my view, there will be no Christians , no Hindus, no Muslims ect.. Those labels will no longer exist; there will be no religions in the Great kingdom of God. There is no evidence at all to support any religion being revealed in the Kingdom; also there will be no laws there either. Gal. 5:23

It wasn't an insult nor was the comment actually directed at you indeed you seem quite a happy person. Rather at the more puritanical of the religious sects who regard excessive jollity as the path to hell. Mankind is put on earth to suffer and die thats why he comes in to the world crying didn't you know it was our punishment for original sin? Read the bible and stop skipping through all the bits that are depressing.

Don't tell me you haven't meet those believers revelling in their misery resentful of the happy people around them? That's what's wrong with most religious fundamentalists of whatever stamp. Miserable bastards that don't see why anyone should enjoy life.

Well your right in my book;, life should be enjoyed. Be happy and do your best.
