A cult of personality, or a cult of the leader, is the result of an effort which is made to create an idealized and heroic image of a glorious leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Historically, it has been developed through techniques such as the manipulation of the mass media, the dissemination of propaganda, the staging of spectacles, the manipulation of the arts, the instilling of patriotism, and government-organized demonstrations and rallies. A cult of personality is similar to apotheosis, except that it is established through the use of modern social engineering techniques, it is usually established by the state or the party in one-party states and dominant-party states. Cults of personality often accompany the leaders of totalitarian or authoritarian governments. They can also be seen in some monarchies, theocracies, failed democracies, and even in liberal democracies.

Re: So, about that birthday parade
A number of people have brought an idea that the Army has been planning a parade for June 14, 2025, to celebrate a 250th anniversary of the forming of the US Army in 1775, for the last two years.
However, I have yet to find actual documentation to support that notion. The earliest mention I have found was from April 2025, after T-Rump had mentioned having a parade for his birthday.
"regretably", I will be on some beach, somewhere, and will be unable to attend.

A spokesman for the King noted:
Meanwhile in Washington, a pale imitation kicks off at 6.30pm with ballet-dancing troops, display drill dance troupes, re-enactment performer troops and, one can only hope, the Commander-in-Chief taking several hundred salutes surrounded in all probability by roars of civil protest and unrest to make it more closely resemble 1775. Let's see who can do it better, eh?
Do you know, I don't believe the orange oaf in Washington even knew he was going to clash with the real deal when he ordered this up in January. Ours has been performed annually, with very few cancellations, since 1805 - there's a list at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_T ... _from_1890
This is an annual military parade celebrating the monarch's official birthday, kicking off at noon today: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cgkdvm2k158tThundering tanks and breathtaking flyovers will roar throughout our capital city as nearly 7,000 soldiers march in historic uniforms from every war since the revolution, I think it’s going to be better and bigger than any parade we’ve ever had in this country.

More than 1,500 “No Kings Day” protests are set to take place nationwide on Saturday. Over 100 advocacy groups partnered to organize the events, which were first announced in May.
“This country doesn’t belong to a king – and we’re not letting him throw himself a parade funded by tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars while stealing from us and stripping away our rights, our freedoms, and the programs our families rely on,” Indivisible, one of the organizing groups, said in a statement last month. “On June 14th, we’re coming together to send one clear message: No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.”

Re: So, about that birthday parade
I watched. This was meant to be an anniversary of the army day? With that front row of Trump leeches? Come on, that was a birthday party. Stop messing about.
So, the parade. I've seen parades, I know parades, that wasn't a parade.
The bands marched, I'll concede the bands had been trained to march. I expect it's a consequence of knowing about beat, and music and stuff. And they'd pressed their uniforms. But the infantry? I take it the others moving along together in step but not columns, not rows, just about in step but not one of them wearing a pressed uniform, not one of them seeming to have a backbone. They shimmied. They slouched along like sullen teenagers who'd rather be anywhere else than out for a walk with their parents.
There were the vehicles and their crews. All waving at the crowd. Incomprehensible. Have these people never seen a parade? Stiff backs for pity's sake, eyes left, salute the platform, eyes front, for goodness sake stop grinning at people.
And some imbecile hired on the basis that he'd once sat in front of the microphone at an air display, tannoying stuff without pause all the way through! And each unformed formation "SPONSORED BY"! The horror! The horror! And through it all some garbage recorded tribute act pushing out damp talentless filtered rock.
And the Commander in Chief, slouched like a potato in a crumpled suit with his legs splayed, inanely grinning when sat singing along to the tribute musak, glowering silent when stood. To continue from Conrad, "“Anything approaching the change that came over his features I have never seen before, and hope never to see again". Perhaps someone had sewed his zip shut before he was allowed on stage.
Shall I get to the point perhaps. This was the capital city of America. Washington DC. Non-Hispanic White: 43%, Black or African American: 24%, Hispanic or Latino: 17%. That was the whitest crowd, the most unbelievably whitest crowd, that crowd was a straightforward slap in the face white crowd. And while I'm at it, that was the whitest army too. That parade was representative of the racial mix of the US Army? I doubt it very much. Who on earth thinks it won't be screamingly apparent when they arrange these things.
I have seen more organized, more professional marching on parade in England through county towns, through villages and on school playgrounds. I've done it myself in uniform on church parades and through town centres and never in my wildest dreams did I think any genuine army could do it as badly as what was displayed yesterday evening. That was a disgrace to the nation.
