Not me, we don't have bonfires this time of year. Bush fire season:-6 I'd love to go to one though.

We always go to the Worcester bonfire that is held at our racecourse ground, and hundreds of people come for a really good time every year. Mind u the last time it poured on the day (typical,) so the event was mainly called off, so I can see an even bigger spectical on Saturday, as long as the weather doesn't turn bad!! :-6

I remember having a Guy Fawkes day back when I went away to school. The lit department made a huge paper mache effigy and we burned it and got drunk. Very fun. I'm thinking of hosting my own bonfire on Friday.

Oh I do miss the crisp fall nights and bonfires and such! It totally pi$$ed rain here last year. I'm crossing my fingers for this year!

Ah yeah has a habit of being sunny all around the actual day and then sure enough rains justs for the 5th specifically!! I'll have to check the UK weather for Saturday and let u know what it says.

Ok here is the BBC forecast for Saturday. Though we all know how reliable and accurate the weather forecasters are.
"A mostly dry morning with plenty of sunny spells. However, a band of rain, locally heavy, will spread eastwards across all but southeast England during the day. Breezy, risk of gales in western parts later."
Doesn't look that promising does it??

I hear that the weather forecasters reckon it'll be dry this Saturday. Better remember my brolly since they're bound to get it wrong.

There's nothing like a good old-fashioned bonfire on a cold November night. baked potatoes from the fire, bangers (sausages for the unBritishiated) and hotdogs, aaaahh lervly.

Totally agree! But I'm finding it difficult to find a bonfire close by. Any suggestions?

My suggestion would be to check your local paper or county website, I'm sure they have the nearest bonfires to ya Raven along with prices and such.

No problems Raven, glad to be of help
I know that we have about 5 bonfires near us, varying in size of course, but most of which cost about £3 of kids and £5 for adults. So I'm guessing that you may have the same near u.
Ah I'm so looking forward to tommorow, it's gonna be so much fun!!

Hehehehe well it's the largest piece I have ever seen anyway, and all for a pound, ah and to think that it will be all mine is such a lovely feeling!
Changing the subject a little to Christmas, do u have a christmas fair in your city??? We have our whole high street and ajoining streets filled up with homemakers bringing their own goods, such as jams, sweets, clothes and all kinds of great things. I visit it every year, and you can get a real good bargain there.

you'll have to pm me to tell me exactly where. I LOVE stuff like that! Now bear in mind, my high street is absolute fabulous! And we have a year round market up by the royals. But one of the best places I've been so far is Rochester. I do have a very fond spot for worcestershire. You can thank lea&perrins for that! LOL!!

Oh don't get me started on those blasted early bonfire parties. We have one family that lives opposite us that has had fireworks every night over the last week. They are so loud, and this is around 11pm or so, whilst some of us are getting ready for bed!!

How about guy fawkes??
I dont know about you guys, but here in essex it was a PERFECT night for bonfires and fireworks! Rain held off and the temp was nice, and I HAD TO WORK!!!!!:yh_cry

Ah that's pretty nasty. However a lot of places still run bonfire parties a few days after the 5th, so u still may be able to find one where u live Raven. We had some rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits and we had a great time on Saturday.

Thats okay. I'll be around for next years. Got thanksgiving to plan for now. I already have that booked off. Turkey, stuffing, and the works! You see, I brought my holidays with me! So that means I have twice as many holidays to plan for!:-6
