Newbie ! Be Gentle!!!? Interesting Story too!
hi all,
New here, Ive been watching for a while (ooerr) but not known when to join in and say hi so I figured the best way was to introduce myself now! Hope people are well x
Here's a story I saw too - quite bizarre but quite interesting too...Im not going to admit going on it (I HAVENT!) but it would make things interesting on a morn driving the kids to school!!!
EXCLUSIVE
BY ANDREW HUTCHINSON
CONSUMER REPORTER
When Jodi Shore first clapped eyes on her dream man at a set of traffic lights it was only for a fleeting second.
The 23-year-old only had time to smile at the mystery motorist before the lights changed to green and he disappeared out of sight.
It left Jodi resigned to the notion that she would never bump into the handsome Volkswagen Golf driver ever again.
That was until she heard about a new website which brings motorists on the lookout for love together through car registration plates.
And luckily the object of her affections, Dave Bell, had already discovered www.datemyplate.com prompting the couple to get in touch. They have now been dating for two months.
Nice
Jodi, from Castleford, recalled: "I was on my way to a friend's house and we noticed each other at the traffic lights.
"We smiled at each other and I thought he looked really nice.
"I didn't think much more about it until I logged onto the website and his details were already on there. I sent him an email and told him that I was the girl who had smiled at him at the traffic lights. Luckily he remembered me and things have gone on from there."
"I have told a few close friends about how we met and they are really surprised. I would like to think it's fate. It's going really well."
Dave, 26, from Barwick-in-Elmet, near Leeds, said he was helpless but had to watch Mercedes driver Jodi drive off after the chance meeting at the lights on Bank Street in Castleford.
"It was very frustrating as we were travelling in opposite directions so there was nothing I could do."
He heard about Date My Plate after picking up a flier for the website in a Castleford bar and decided to register his car details online.
"It seemed a good laugh at the time. And to be fair I'm really glad I did. If it weren't for the website we could have never seen each other again."
The brainchild of the Date My Plate concept is 29-year-old Martin Easton from Castleford.
He said: "Every motorist at some stage has seen someone they really fancy while at the wheel and have been unable to do anything about it. Well now they can."
Colour
Mr Easton said the website's driving force was its search engine which allows people to narrow down the hunt for their potential partner using part of a number plate, a region, car colour, car make or model.
"Even if your car is not registered on the site drivers are able to send a message to the licence plate ID which is stored until the car owner registers.
"And bearing in mind we have more than 1,300 messages waiting, there could be a message waiting for you – and with it potentially the partner of your dreams."
"We are delighted that we have played a small but important part in helping Jodi and Dave get together."

Hi Marian'
I saw a story on Date plate, I bet if you have a flash car you get more dates too. I should hire something really flashy, take it to town for a few days and see how I go.

Welcome, Marian! This website is a very friendly and fun place to be. We're even throwing fruitcake at each other somewhere around here. Watch out and duck!
I like the name of the website "Date My Plate." It almost sounds like "Kiss My A@@" or "Suck My Tailpipe," even.
Cute site, though -- and welcome :-6

Dearest Marian, welcome to Forum Garden. I hope you find your stay to be pleasantly filled with joy and serendipity. If you need a guide please feel free to call upon myself and I will try to be accomadating and resourceful in any way possible. I am the good one here. The rest are not so good. I say that as a matter of fact so as to save yourself time and aggravation. There are some that are better not so good than others but why quibble ? Lets just lump them all into the same proverbial barrel of bad apples shall we ?
I AM AWESOME MAN
