Hello RT, don't believe we've met before.

For Christmas, my family always do the same things. We get up really early, go downstairs, open up all our presents, and then just generally have loads of fun, chatter and food for the rest of the day. Sometimes our relatives come by as well, but I don't think that's gonna happen this year though.

I intend on starting to drink around the 22nd and waking up on the 30th Dec.

Just in time for new year.:D

Saying that though, I always find new years eve to be a huge disapointment.

Well New Years Eve is either really good, or really disappointing for me. If you are able to be a part of the celebrations, and find a party to go to, (similiar way to Bonfire night,) then u can have a great time. Though if it's raining, then u get stuck at home watching all the fun on tv, which is kinda sad. Oh that just gave me an idea for a thread!! :yh_idea

I know what you mean!! You sit up all night waiting for midnight and nothing really happens, another minute ticked away at the end of a day!! WOW

Or you pay a huge amount of money for a babysitter so you can go celebrate only to find everywhere so packed you can't get to the bar in time for a drink to wish the New Year in! :wah:

I normally work on new years eve anyway. People pay stupid money for nannies on that night.

I had a families kids from 6 - 4am and got £1000 last year. They were stupidly rich though.

Ours is relatively consistent tooo - eat, drink, be merry!! Venue changes each year, and we've had a few additions (niece and nephew) over the last couple of years, but it's always just a great day to spend time together. Aussie tradition is also to play backyard cricket after lunch. Helps to work off the big lunch!!!

I can't quite get my head around having a 'warm' christmas.

If I haven't turned blue in the lips on our christmas walk after lunch then it's just not christmas.:wah:

Oh I have always wanted to go skiing, been an ambition of mine since i was a kid. It's near impossible though, as we don't have any ski slopes remotely near us, and my family can't stand the thought of falling on your butt for a whole fortnight. :D

Well you can always come west, we are 1 hours drive from world class skiing. I myself do NOT ski.

I should have an exciting Christmas!

We are:

1. Going to Colorado Springs to see my Aunt.

2. Driving to the top of Pike's Peak.

3. Going on a picnic in the Garden of the Gods.

4. Touring the Cave of the Winds.

5. Singing Christmas Carols with hundreds of people at the Seven Falls. (They are frozen, and they light them up with colored lights!)

6. Skiing at Purgatory.

7. Playing pool on our new pool table.

8. Have eggnog and rum in the jacuzzi while watching Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer on a flat screen nearby.:D

My Christmas starts early with the first party on the 3rd of December, My sister is coming to visit and then for new year were having a 70th birthday party for my Father. Lots of short camping trips in between starting this Thursday. South Australia for a few nights then the following week Canberra for a few Nights, then Burrondong dam on the 26th of December then a week up the coast in January.

I always have a party at my house for New year.
