Whoa...the drama meter is going off the scale at FG. First LC's medical problems, then mominiowa, there's my death threats, and ...I can't remember everything!

Tell Wolfy we are all with him. He is truly a good person to hold the little girl and help in that situation. He must be devastated, to have a child die in your arms.

Tell him to get some rest. :o

that was tough. my niece is 9 now. the little girl wasn't buckled...

Please forgive me if i am too graphic, i don't mean to be.

I know that nothing bleeds like the scalp and head. thin skin, laced with many veins and vessles. but jeez....

i sat in the street with her, kept her airway clear, and just talked to her.

I am seeing a professional tomorrow at 3pm.

i lost it at work today. got called in to explain myself to Risk Management. why i got involved. why i got other team members involved. Wasn't on property, didn't involve any company employees.

ARE YOU F**CKING KIDDING?? i yelled, screamed, shouted, cursed, and cried.

out of sadness and frustration. How could anyone take that stance? "Don't get involved" ??

people needed help and my crew and i were in the immediate area. we're trained in emergency first aid. the handful of by-standers were just.... standing there. two women screaming, a toddler crying, immense amounts of unknown fluids poring out of STILL RUNNING vehicles.

I got a two day suspension(without pay) for calling the Management team a bunch of P*ssies. only concerned with liability and how much it might cost the company. shut up!

i need a break. I can't get that little girl out of my head.

I can't remember what she looked like. I see my neice's face all bloodied when i try to picture it.

thank you all so much for your thoughts and good vibes. i'm going to take some time and try to get my head striaght.

I love you guys.

J.R.

Wolfy, you did the right thing, you did you very best to help them. Of course, you are going to be upset afterwards, that is a normal reaction. You do what is necessary to get your thoughts togeter, we are always here for you to talk with you, anytime.:-4

I am so sorry you had to go through something like that. No one should have to. You are smart to go talk to someone. You need to let it all out with them. CRY it out. Don't be ashamed. Such a graphic memory will be with you a long time..forever, but how you deal with that memory is the key to your peace. While you work on healing, take extra time to love your niece. Give her lots of hugs and remind her to always buckle up. Let her know how much you love her. I believe it really will help and I also believe time is the healer of wounds. Take time out to really look at life. The little girl's job is done. You will only realize her work years from now. God bless you!

Damn, Wolvie. I'm so sorry to hear about your tough time. That truly sucks. Tell your supervisors to kiss your ass, and take advantage of that counselor. Let me know if I can do anything. :yh_hugs :-4

Keep Talking Wolfy, and if you need to, keep crying....you did a wonderful thing with the little girl...to be in the arms of someone who cares would have been comforting for her.

Take care....loads of hugs.....xxx

What a horrible thing to be involved in. You did the right thing though. How could you not get involved? We need more people in this world who would do as you did.

Make sure you get it all out to the proffessional you see and if you need to go back then do so.

This will only make you a stronger person in the long run.

Sending you cyber (((hugs)))

Wow I'm so sorry to hear about this Wolverine. I can easily understand your frustration at your supervisors, for not understanding the reasons as to why you stayed there. As everyone else who has posted me has said, you are a great guy for doing what u did, and have every right to want to vent out some frustration.

U take care my friend!! :)

Death is always a shock, but when it 'might have been' avoided by just buckling up......... THEN THE ANGER SETS IN...........

WHY WAS THIS CHILD NOT WEARING A SEATBELT?

My prayer for you is that you will find "peace" in your heart and mind.

So i had to take Thursday and Friday off. Saw the shrink wednesday. that was a help.

went out to illinois to see sis and the kids. that helped too.

just to be clear, i didn't get suspended for helping. I got it for mouthing off to my superiors. they wanted to suspend me for longer, but someone's got my back.

I'd like to find out who.

Not sleeping well. had a nightmare last night. that sucked. haven't had one of those since i was a kid; stayed up to watch "Gremlins"

just frustrated at the whole situation. Why did the mom driving have everyone buckled up EXCEPT the 8yr old?

Why did the EMTs work on the old man first and wait for a second bus to look at the little girl?

thanks for the good thoughts. i really do love you guys.

That is very sad for you Wolverine, I am sorry for you and the people involved. I was involved in a car accident once at 60 mph, but I was wearing a seatbelt (I feel very uncomfortable driving without one) and the car had an airbag, I walked away with bruises. Someone I grew up with had an accident while not wearing a seatbelt in a car with an airbag, he was killed at 30 mph. I don't know if that poor little girls' mom just forgot or didn't realize the danger, but I know for a fact why seat belts can mean the difference between walking away and not coming home. I hope that you manage to get over this horrible incident, I am truly sorry this happened to you.

Wolverine....next time someone asks you, "Why did you get involved?" You tell them, "Because mankind is all our business." and "I'll pray for your soul tonight."

It boggles the imagination that there are actually people who would ask that of a man who had just gone through what he had.

I remember once a parent threatened to sue me for telling them that their daughter had admitted to smoking crack in class while I was listening. (Geez..I thought they'd want to know!)

So I told her, "Go ahead and sue me, I own nothing, I dress in Walmart clothes, and I'm deeply in debt to the hospital. You think that kind of threat worries me?":D

God, I can't believe that your work superiors would even suggest that you explain yourself, I'm impressed that you showed such self restraint and didn't stick their legal disclaimers up their arses for them. What a bunch of wankers.

Wolvie aspires to be a police officer, and is in academy...he will not only see a lot of horrible scenes of death and disaster, he'll meet many total assholes in his career, some in his chain of command. sadly, one builds a wall. it's a matter of mental survival. ~~~~i was an extremely sensitive kid, now i'm a complete cynic. the job steals your soul, ALMOST.. i can still weep, and do. cops have very high divorce, alcoholism and suicide rates. but that's another topic. Wolvie will recover and move on.

I am 98 % sure that in Australia if you have a first Aid certificate and come across a person needing assistance you are required by law to assist unless you can give a very good reason as to why you didn't, Like to many bodily fluids and no gloves as you are not expected to put yourself at risk, that is your own choice.
