:yh_laugh You big poser! You just want everybody to know you have a posh car with an outside thermometer.
I'm not impressed, mine has electric windows and a five speed gearbox.

Yes its real posh my Nissan Pick up!!!! For some bizarre reason it has climate control AND a thermometer whilst eschewing such luxuries as a rear windcsreen wiper!!!!
I have six gears ner ner de ner ner, ok well only 5 of them propel it in a foward direction but they all count

Bothwell,
Well, here it is 7:00 A.M and its 43 degrees and will be a high of 64 over the weekend it is supposed to rise to almost 68 degrees and oh, did I mention I have strepthroat:mad: And my son has already had stomach flu.

Our local paper has reported that baby hedgehogs have been born recently and on our local pond some baby ducklings have recently hatched out. ....cute and good for the wildlife population, but will these babys survive the winter ? The hedgehogs in particular are at risk as they need to carry a certain amount of fat and be a certain weight in order to survive hibernating for the winter.
We certainly do seem to be having some unusual temperatures. ...I guess we should enjoy while we can, since the 'met. ' people are forecasting an exremely cold winter.
Enjoy Aussie land Bothwell and give us the 'lowdown' when you get back...you lucky 'Globetrotter' you. !

Bez there are even second strawberry crops around, as to the poor hedgehogs I doubt it, becasue as you alluded to the guru of weather forecasters the Mighty John (we are not worthy) Ketley (possible the only weather man with a song dedicated to him) says this winter is going to be brutal so look out tiggywinkles, I suppose we could always wrap them in clay and cook them like my granny said she use to do!
I shall do my best to enjoy Aus from the inside of my hermetically sealed anti bug, snake, shark, jellyfish suit:D

It was a lovely day in Ireland (southeast) today! Quite cold, but clear and bright. It was 0 degrees C last night (I have one of those fancy thermometer things like Bothwell, though actually their not really very fancy seeing as I have one in a Nissan!). Oh its nice to get away from global warming for a change.

The sudden cold is a bit of a shock, but at leasts it's not dull and grey. I've got a thermometer in my Toyota Yaris...only means I have of knowing the temperature.

Not too far away, though I don't live there in Co. Mayo, which is where I took the picture (its Achill Island, very beutiful place). I must take some pictures of my own county down south where the mountains are, its quite nice as well. Thanks glad you enjoyed the photo, I will post some more in the photo section!

Leave us alone, its not our fault we live in the British Isles, blame God. I had a mate who moved to L.A. and had the annoying habit of emailing us the weather reports every day while we had to endure grey skies, gale force winds, 57 types of rain, including the one that falls "up" over here. Still if it doesn't kill us, it makes us stronger.

I live in Queensland... at the moment its balmy and timid about 17 degrees Celcius, at the moment we are waiting for our wet season storms... weve cleaned our gutters. we have prepared and bought torches batteries and canned food - when we have no power we have to use the bbq and it can be days before power is restored in the rural area i am in... when we have no power means we cant flush toilet - water pump from water tanks are shut down from no power and we are stuck running with buckets of water to flush.... our chainsaw is ready for fallen trees and we have tape for the french windows and doors we have around the house... it can get a lil rough...
its a pain in the a$$ but i love where i live... being in the tropics brings the most amazing lightening storms and i am keen photographer, so i love these nights of destruction........
I love where I live... I wouldnt have it any other way :-6

Oh don't get me wrong Ireland is a fantastic country to live in, but the weather does suck though. I know the OC is not L.A. but its still southern California isn't it? Anyway this is about U.K. weather, so tropical storms and warm pacific winds do not apply!

Ireland looks lovely and quaint, I someday would like to visit there and try to make heads or tails of what part my heritage comes from. (no one knows) LOL
I'm just making fun of "The OC", everything seems to take place in LA county, Orange County has kind of come into it's own the last 25 years so it's fun to see something you are familiar with......however what you are seeing is very little Orange County (thats why it's funny) does you MTV show Laguna Beach? That is Orange County.

I don't watch the OC show, but I have heard that Orange County is a popular place. I'm sure that the T.V. shows and movies don't paint a very realistic picture of the place, but thats the same of most places i.e. Ireland is not populated by leprechauns and banshees and people don't live in sheds or ride donkeys around or generally live in the 1890's, likewise people in England don't all live in Georgian mansions, have butlers, or again live in the 1890's. But one thing is for certain, you have much better weather than us! Anyway, at the moment over here its drizzly, a bit cold, and gloomy, it will remain like this until about May 2006.

I just hate going home in the dark after work!! But I guess I can be glad I don't live in that place in Alaska, where they have 66 days of darkness! I'll just count my blessings!
