Has anyone heard about the cadaver exhibit with dead bodies and some 260 body parts on show? What do you think?

Would you go see it?

Do you care how these cadavers were obtained, legally or illegally?

Do you see this as disgusting?

Educational?

Body World we had it here in the UK - it was really amazing not gory at all. The bodies just looked like they were made of wax.

Yes I've heard of it, we had the body works come to london a few years back and I must say it fascinates me.

I'd love to go and see it and from what I am aware the bodies were donated in the exhibition which came to London. Don't know about the American one.

I don't see it as disgusting. How can a human body be disgusting? It is what we are. Some people don't even know what their insides look like from looking in a text book so this would be a real eye opener.

From what I've read lots of people after visiting such exhibits have made a big health change in their lives after seeing what disease can do to internal organs.

The thing is, we all have a choice whether to go and see it or not. If you don't like this sort of thing. Don't go.

Simple.

In my opinion, its definetly educational. And if I understand it correctly, the bodies were of executed prisoners, which I think should be used for science so some good could come out of whatever horrible thing they did to be executed.

I agree. I would go to see the exhibit.

The only thing that bothers me is if they are actually desecrating the corpses to get any desired effects. That's wrong. I think that seeing the actual processes is interesting, but not if they're desecrating corpses.

Also, there is a body farm. There might even be a couple of them by now. I'm not exactly sure where it's located -- I think it's in Arizona. On this body farm, scientists have corpses all over the place in different stages of death under different conditions. It helps them with solving crimes and determining times and/or stages of death. Forensic science is some fascinating stuff.

I wouldn't go to see it as it wouldn't 'entertain' me at all.

Don't see it as disgusting...a bit macabre maybe.

It might be seen as educational...depends what you want/need to learn.

Snooze I think people agreed to do this before they died.

I saw it and it was amazing.

First, the "corpses" did not even look like real people. They did something where they exchanged the body fluids with some kind of polymer. The bodies looked doll-like and had no smell or anything.

Also, it was really an advertisement for healthy living. We got to see tumors, and a man who had died of obesity and what that did to his organs. We were able to see healthy organs compared to sick organs. I was able to see what a kidney with kidney disease looks like which was really kind of neat, at least for me.

We saw cirrhosis, coal miner's lung, smokers' lungs, an inflamed heart...

It wasn't so much "entertainment" as it was ready access to something that's going on inside all of us. I really appreciated the exhibit, and it was actually VERY tastefully displayed. They even had a little tented off area where you could see human gestation...along with a sign saying all of the babies and mothers had died of natural causes together. It was very respectful. Apparently all of the bodies had been donated to science, so what better use for them than to educate the public?

It's expensive but if you have a chance to see it, you really should. It's amazing.
