Anyone else here ever dabel in network marketing

Women were selling Avon before they had the right to vote in this country.

Someone once told me that during the depression many people sold Watkins because they were to proud to take a hand out but not to proud to make a sale.

Anyone else here ever sell anything through a network marketing company? Or were you just a customer?

And why did you quit? My parents use to be Amway distributors but quit when the annual fee made it not such a good deal for people who were just customers.

Avon is one of my top 20 stock houlding as of september 04.

I'm in mutual funds so I only get to see what I have in a rear view mirrior.

In our area the new big one seems to be selling candels.

Amway always seemed too much of a con, I have only met one distribor who made any money but only sold to close friends. On the other hand know several who fell for it, bought the stock but couldn't shift it, mainly because it was too expensive for what it is. Perceived as pyramid selling. The set up is too geared up to exploiting the bottom of the chain.

biggest difference is you only need to buy stock when you have a firm order-no up front cost. It's door to door selling but I know a couple of guys who built up their own distribution networks with sales teams working for them. One inparticular went from bankruptcy to being a millionaire-fair to say he was highly motivated. If you can do it there is a lot of money to be made. Amway have had to rebrand here because of their bad reputation. Trying web site marketing but still not off the ground. You still meet their advocates who want to talk about a business opportunity and antagonise by not being up front about it.

Ann summers is very successful, party plan selling of sexy underwear, now have retail outlets in the high street.

There are a few others with jewellery etc, the successful ones have a decent product and don't rip off their distributors. Annual fee for amway says it all. You have to pay to work for them?

One friend invited me to a busisness opportunity. And I am guessing all the MLMs I can and he kept saying nope, nope, nope.

Well it turned out to be Amway which was one of my first guesses. I was totally ticked off.

They were like we are network 2000 and we are not Amway we just happen to be selling Amway or something like that.

Their latest marketing ploy is: Quikstar! (Amway)

My friends call these people: "pyramid selling freaks." I have three good friends that have sold Amway. One is still doing so.

For the amount of time and energy that two of these people spent on this venture, they would have been better off making their own product and starting their own company. The founders and early distributors are usually the only ones that get rich. Everyone else scrambles down a progressively steepening "upline".

When I was in college people would go around "You need to experience Melaulica(SP?)" They brought Tea Tree Oil to the USA in mass. Almost 1/3 of the people in Greeley seem to have joined. Know a few that are still in it but anyway.

It did seem a bit cultish or drugish. Then one day a friend of mine was "YOu got to experience Meleuca. ANd I checked it out and was very glad he was not in a cult.

I was selling insurance at the time and had the out that my contract prohibited me from selling. I bought the stuff for a while and he placed a few people under me. When they quit I quit as the stuff is a tad on the pricy side.

He did however sell me on the idea of networkmarketing. And insurance is a networkmarketing deal as well. They just don't sign up everyone to sell like the MLMs do.

well, i know some friends who is doing this kind of business. and they really earn money from it. their age are under 30!! all are very young man. they r not doing door to door direct selling. they doing it with another method.

they are trying to convince me, but i say it's not the time yet... coz i am a student :wah:

maybe i'll try to get some more information about what they are doing... maybe i'll consider take this as a part-time job.

The big MLM out here is either Vector Knives or AAA Vacuum Cleaners. I'm not all about any company where you have to buy lots of stock up front. Plus I'd hate for my family and friends to always think I'm selling something to them. Adult toy parties kind of fall into the same categories, but those can be fun so I can see where it would be redeeming.

Awe the front end load. Some companies try to make their's sound more legitimate because there is an investment.

Equanox use to have college kids beg their parents for 5K to buy in as a manager. Or have them put it on their credit card. I've gotten totally discounted merchandice from people who have a closet full of stuff from outfits like these.

As for the previous post they may just be doing a take away. It is a sales tactict where they act like you may not qualify to make you want it more.

And the adult partying seems to be one of the hot ones in this area as well.

i am now considering joining the network marketing, is based on internet, and doing something about e-marketing.

by doing this part time job, i need a group of people working togather with me, without going to office, just working at home. using the computer only...

ha, it is just a begining only, doesn't know can work or not.

hows u guys opinion?
