PASS IT ON e-mail

Am getting tired of opening my e-mail program to find that I am being overwhelmed with pass it on e-mails.

You know the kind...ones that are cute, what a great friend you are, bless you, etc. The punch line is that you MUST forward these to 5 or more friends within x amount of minutes with the promise of good luck and/or fortune to come your way within 7 days. What??? :-2 You mean if I don't do this, something bad with happen? :-3

How do you politely get the message across to these friends that you do not want these types of e-mails sent to you, without hurting their feelings?

Any suggestions?

after a while you know who the worst offenders are, especially when you see the little attachment symbol and they have sent you 14 mails that day. i don't even open them, delete, delete, delete. :rolleyes: i simply know who i am going to get serious mail from, and who is going to send me the lame stuff.

Most are not attachments. I've done just that...delete, they just re-send them.

Tell them they clog up your mail box and tangle up your stuff.

If they try to explain how it 'really' works, then tell them you were trying politely to get these type of emails stopped without hurting their feelings. No more words but a heavy pause might communicate what you are trying to say.......

if you really want to be ruthless, block them and bounce them, they'll think your address changed. ~~~~~~~~~what i really hate is all the stupid angel things that are going to get me into heaven. :rolleyes:

Yeah...got six of those today from a good friend. :-5

She's turning very religious lately. I think because she's turning another year older on Turkey Day...just can't deal with it! :rolleyes:

BTS...I get those phishings too and delete them.

Friends are sending the pass it on e-mail that I'm talking about here. I just don't want to be rude and hurt their feelings in the wrong way, if ya know what I mean.
