Tsunami orphans make easy prey

Post by capt_buzzard »

Chridren in Thai refuges at risk of abduction.

For now, Bua Changtongkom is safe. But those sheltering the 15-year old tsunami orphan know she is easy prey for Thailand's sex traffickers.

If she is abducted, as many of her age have been, then the present chaos the authorities would have little chance of rescuing her.

All the Western orphans have been flown back to their home countries, but the Thai police have little hope for their own orphans, both boys and girls who are prey to perverts.

Ok here is a perfect example of a way we could help. Notify the US government.

"There are 336 orphaned children here needing adoptive parent" I promise you

if they were to put them on an airplane today........ There would be 1000 couples at the airport.. waiting to take those children home, and adopt them.

They wont do that... that would be a little Free Joy. Better to have the childless c

ouples here try to come up with 30 grand to pay for a child. SEND THEM OVER.

I could have homes for 4 of them by this evening.

This is a really serious issue that calls for prompt attention. I hope the Thai government will as a matter of urgency find viable ways of protecking these orphans from traffikers. It is unfortunate to know that some people could be so terrible as to capitalise on a misfortune (the Tsunami) to abduct helpless orphans.
A formula for tact: "Be brief politely, be aggressive smilingly, be emphatic pleasantly, be positive diplomatically, be right graciously".

If I had the means to do it..... I would go get them all today. Maybe this situation is the kind of thing.. that if citizens banded together... we could do something to get them out of there.
