Ahhh Christmas brings out the Sappiness in me....
Good time to reflect.
So on my way to work today I was thinking about the friendships developed because of FG..... People who over the internet have come to a common meeting place, some of us to just chat, some of us to solve problems, some of us just curious, some were brought in by others etc. Obviously some great friendships have developed.
It is fantastic to see that out of a bunch of random folks some great friendships grew. And for those of you who have already met in person...Bravo! May you remain friends a very long time.
I wish I could meet many FG members. I am so looking forward to meeting whomever I can in May in England, and bless his little green self, I can't wait for the day I get to Meet Far and his family. And surprisingly after a rocky start there are a few here I am thrilled to call friends and glad we got over our hills and put our "issues" aside.
Anyway I guess my point is it is fantastic to be a member of such a great forum and perhaps one day we can do a FG gathering and meet more members.
To Friends you are all great.

Right you are minks, there are some really great people in our Garden family, you certainly being one of them!!!
I myself don't get to spend as much time in here as I would like. But being "retired" is hard work you know, (Ha Ha) I thought I was going to have too much time on my hands, man-o-man was I ever wrong!!! Yes it would be wonderful if there could be some kind of Garden "giant" picknic where we all could get together. Maybe someday, but the logistics of the where, what, when, & how would be overwhelming!

One of the very best things I like about the FG -is that I can be me...I can be sad without everyone thinking I am dying or the doctor called..I can be happy with out everyone thinking I am being passive about my illness...I can gloat about my kids - or curse them when they are naughty..tell u the happiness of my family and yet complain about the 12 brothers and sisters from HELL......LOL I have made several friends and I can not say enough that I LOVE YOU GUYS!! You give great insight when its needed..honesty when you may not want to hear it-- and a feeling a wonderful friendship...and I truly believe that we should throw a dart and plan a meeting-- I know our over seas friends would have trouble making it but what if they could --what a wonderful meeting it would be!
:-6 Your the BEST!:-6
:-4 Merry Christmas to each of you and your families!!!:-4

Maybe I wouldn't call them "friends" found on FG but "angels"
I don't know how I would have coped without all of you and when I get back to England, I'll say more about the offers of a place to stay, the offers to come and pick me up, the private messages and calls to make sure I'm okay.
Yes, definitely "angels"

Awwww....darn Floppy! You're making me blush (for real too!)
I was a forum castaway. My previous forum devolved into a chatroom for teens. So I went looking for something else. What... I didn't really know, but something different than I had.
Well, somehow I followed a link to this forum. I timidly introduced myself and was I ever amazed at the reception! Everyone was pleasant and nice to me! What's more the topics were stimulating and diverse. Everyone was so intelligent and fun! I never dreamed ther could be this kind of group in cyber-space.
Within days, I was an addict.
I was addicted to:
Anastrophe. I remember the first time I ever fenced with him on the boards. Intimidating is the understatement of the year. He is so intelligent that it's actaully kind of amazing. But the picture of him in his teen years revealed a kind-eyed rebel with a shy grin. As I got to know him I realized that there are many deep layers to him. I respect him the most of anyone here.
Tombstone. Exemplary father, wonderful husband and a role model for every guy on the boards. Another excellent leader.
The streetwise and strong personality of Ladycop, the leader of the boards. She posted exciting, fascinating threads about all kinds of things.
The forceful, self confident personality of Babyrider. There was a girl who knew what she believed in and wasn't afraid to stand up to anyone. You were the first to welcome me BR. I never forgot you for that.
The sage wisdom of Bothwell. Somehow he just seemed to personify the perfect British Gentleman.
Capt. Buzzard. I miss that old Irish hound dog. he's got his own boards now and this place is a little emptier without him.
Minks. The fun tricks and sly humor of Minks. Boisterous and excitable, fun-loving and energetic. She ran through threads like a stream in a Summer field.
Peg, the soft-spoken, caring, considerate voice of reason. She shared with me that we both had RA and we've given each other support many times over the last year.
Abbey. She supported me from the very first. For which I am eternally grateful When she is not posting there is a terrible vacuum on the boards.
Later other wonderful personalities seemed to gravitate to us like butterflies to a flower:
Accountable. His stirring posts move my soul. He thinks deep thoughts and reaches for large concepts. Yet he can be a funny and crazy as Minks at times. A real paradox.
Hotsauce. Excitable and enthusiastic. Bouncy as a Tigger, and just as fun.
MominIowa. A heart as big as the world with deep feelings. What better username exists on this board than "mom" for her? She is what is best in all of us.
Flopstock. Intelligent and compassionate. Understanding and empathetic. She embodies all the qualities that make women great. A shining example of courage.
Far Rider. Why do I get an image of John Wayne in my mind's eye every time I'm taking to him? Most likely because he is the soul of manhood. Tough but fair. Gruff, but soft-hearted. Swaggering masculinity combined with intuitive insight. Charismatic to a fault.
Chonsigirl. A visionary. A leader. Full to the brim with love for everyone in this world and as forgving as the day is long. Would that I could have just a little of the patience she has.
ActionFigureStepho. Despite her avatar, which might lead you to think she's a man, talking to her for only a minute will reveal a very feminine, wonderful and sweet woman.
Arnoldlayne. From the second I read his avatar, I knew I'd like him and I was right about that!
Betty Boop. A user with class. She has it and always will.
BTS. A man's man. What a great guy. He's just a good 'ol boy. Someone I'd like to sit with by a campfire.
Cars. Retired and dignified all in one. You've taught me a lot.
Clint. The best Christian I ever knew. He made me think a lot about the way I view life.
Devistate me. Sexy and charming. Need I say more? I think not.
Galbally. New here and already making a name for himself. He's impressive, smart and quick. Get your ducks in a row!
GMC. Another just really decent guy. He reads the threads a lot before posting and each post of his is carefully considered. When he speaks, people listen.
Jab, Jika, and John8Pies. All members who increased my worldview and challenged my concepts of the world. Excellent people all.
Kensloft. Insightful and keen. he always cuts right to the point!
Lon. Ageing so gracefully it almost hurts. I hope to be as gentle and wise as he is someday.
Nomad. Now there's a real man. He reminds me of the men of the last century, "The Greatest Generation." A "true blue guy" and that's a compliment I save for the best.
NValleyVee. Is there a sweeter soul on the boards? Someone as inspring and decent? No, there isn't.
Pina and Pink Princess. Two of the most lovely-spirited people I think I've met. If they can't say something nice, they don't say anything at all. Thumper would be proud.
Raven. I saw where you came from Raven. You don't belong there. You are our kind. Welcome home.
And even Scrat. Razor sharp. He's a human computer with a conscience. A worthy opponent.
Little Skittles. Where would we be without her child-like innocence and insight?
Snoozecontrol. The best of the best, family starts here.
Spot. Idealist and revolutionary. Without the flame of his ideas, the political boards are a dark cavern.
Sojourner. Look out. Sojourner is coming up! I have a feelign youwill be here a long time, Sojourner, and that's a great thing.
Tombsgirl. Would Tombstone have married a lesser woman? Of course not! That's why Tomb'sgirl is such a wonderful lady. Very classy.
Valerie. My favorite name. You remind me so much of an old babysitter I had. The coolest ever!
And last but not least, Wolverine. Good old Wolfy. As much a part of this family as anyone can be.
You've all helped me celerate my successes. You've laughed at my lame jokes, encouraged my story writing, held up my beliefs. You've cried at my losses and reassured me of my victories. You shown me new views and challenged my old ones. You've stirred my soul and stretched my vision. Together we've run the entire gauntlet of emotions from pain and misery to laughter and joy.
In short you have been a family to me, and for that I am forever in your debt.
My sincere wishes for each of you on this Holiday Season: May you all live long and healthy lives, and may your descendants inherit the special qualities that you all display to me everyday. The world will be a much better place because of all of you.
Merry Chirstmas and a very, very Happy New year to you all.

My sincere wishes for each of you on this Holiday Season: May you all live long and healthy lives, and may your descendants inherit the special qualities that you all display to me everyday. The world will be a much better place because of all of you.
Merry Chirstmas and a very, very Happy New year to you all.
