Youth... it's wasted on the Young!
This morning it was 32 degrees F outside, and since we had 2+ inches of
rain yesterday, that's COLD. I head out for my morning walk, I'm wearing
leggings (;) ) under my sweatpants, my dad's WWII Marine field jacket,
mittens and a knit cap pulled down over my ears.
Kid walks past me on his way to school, what's he wearing? Board shorts
and a short-sleeve t-shirt!!

heh! You'd be surprised at what I see the kids wearing here in N. Idaho on cold days. Usually, as the cold grinds on, they forget their Summer wardrobe and start bundling up.

LOL--My son has always hated coats. He wear layers and his hoody. If he wears a coat, I know it's too cold for me to even step outside.

Yep the kids here in New England have to be "COOL" to. So that means in the 2+ inches of rain you mentioned you had the day before, if it was here, they would "never" use an umbrella. They just stand at the bus stop, & or walking down the streets getting completly drenched down to the bone!!! When they get to where ever it is they're going, they are soaking wet, go figure!!! :wah:
(But they're COOL!)

That was me in Fl. I dont recall ever wearing long pants. Theres something to be said for wrapping up in a nice sweater and a warm winter coat and a cool pair of boots and then crunching through the snow though. We had a mini snow storm yesterday and I love being out in that, I cant explain why except that I like heavy weather. Fl was boring this is fun.

Oh, I love wearing shorts all year long. I hate having to dress for the cold, who wants to look 50 pounds overweight wearing thermals and triple shirts on just to survive?
*sigh*
My kids will get 5 days of bliss in L.A., I hope they enjoy the sun along with the family.

i've only voluntarily warn a jumper once, to memory anyway, this was on a school camp where i was sleeping outside with a nice cold sea breeze blasting on my back. it got to like 4 degrees C, not something you get used to in the sunshine state.
most people at school think i'm crazy for not wearing a jumper, everyone except the poms.
