St. Peter the diddicoys. (gypsies)

St Peter is having a rexaling day, when he is woken up by a din going on outside. There are a group of about forty diddicoys banging on the Pearly Gates, demanding entry. He takes advice from God, who tells him only to allow half a dozen or so in at one time, and to keep a careful check on them. Ten minutes later he returns ashen-faced.

"Lord, we have a problem - they're gone!"

"Oh well, not to worry." Replies God."

"N-n-no Lord," Peter stammers. "The Gates! The G-g-gates are gone!"
