LC ...I'd just like to say a big thank you for nudging me in the right direction when I was about to do something I would forever regret.

I know you have fond memories of certain treasured family photographs, so in my small way , this picture is for you. I took this a few months ago in September.

For those who don't recognise this, this is Urquhart Castle. It stands on a rocky part on the north shore of Loch Ness in Scotland. The picture has not been pushed , shopped , or otherwise ....it really looks likes this. I'd like to say that it's God's own garden...this wouldn't be true. The truth is we get so much bloody rain in Scotland , thats why the land is so green, and thats also why we can be moaning faced b*stards, who fight a lot ...... :)

Im not directing this at you, I dont even know you. I have had my run ins with Scots though, they can be a cantankerous unforgiving lot with something that resembles the Great Wall Of China used as a fortress to protect their true feelings. Truthfully Scots are a difficult bunch. Im not anti-Scot by any means, rather Im intrigued yet wary and suspicious of the whole bunch of ya. (But I dont mean that in a negative way.) But boy it sure sounds like it doesnt it ? :wah:

Clancy wrote: Some of us can be like that, thats true. I'd have to say though that we're very friendly, and are just as catankerous as anyone else. I have two brothers younger than me, one is very placid in nature , the other would literally kill you if you wrong side him, and I'm somewhere in between.

Maybe it's because we've been fighting for centuries ....we even had a skirmish with the Romans....so when you put all of that into the mix.....perhaps if you met with us on our home ground you might think differently.

All in all, I think that most English speaking people can be defined by types, but it looks as though you have us stereotyped already , so no change there then. :)

I didnt say this right. Ive met quite a few Scots online, I took to them right away. Fierce sense of humor, very intense personalities. The ones Ive met Ive liked very much. My own personal experiences ended up sour (maybe because Im prone to saying stupid things) I have no preconcieved notions or animosity towards anyone. I just meant that the ones Ive met have been very robust, not a bad thing at all. Actually I would very much like to visit your country, Im enamored with all things Scot. Im probably screwing this up again, but Ill just say honestly I meant no harm. Sorry.

Sure, Nomad, sure. You're picking on the new guys again. Ya big creep.

Actually, Clancy, Nomad is harmless, if not real bright. Just pat him on the head and he'll be fine.

Thanks for the really nice note today, by the way, Clancy. It meant even more to me since you don't really know me yet. Very touching, thanks!

Absolutely beautiful. My brother and his wife went there on their

honeymoon a couple of years ago... they loved it.

They looked around various places for our last name, (We supposedly

have some Scots heritage) but never did see it anywhere. Maybe

some day *I* can go look...
