I have just taken my husband to jail

Post by BabyRider »

In a nutshell:

Last July, Bullet was in a situation where he got shot at. He returned fire and killed the man trying to kill him. The police and investigators wrote the case up as self-defense and we were told that the whole thing was justified and going away. Thursday, one week after we eloped, we got a call from the Detroit Police department saying the prosecutor was going ahead with charges and they were issuing a warrant for his arrest, the charges being murder 2 and felony firearms. After speaking to our lawyer, and figuring out a game plan, Bullet has turned himself in today. I will be going to the arraignment this afternoon and hopefully he will be getting a low bond and I will have him home with me this evening.

If I am here sporadically or not at all, you all know why.

Thanks Snooze. Yes, it's pretty f*cked up and the timing really is beautiful, huh? At least he'll be out later today. Then we just have the trial to look forward to. Yay. :yh_eyebro

BR, what an horrific time for you both. My thoughts are with you and my love. Keep us posted on whatever's happening if you can because, as I've recently found out, the people on FG are absolute treasures for offering support, encouragement and practical help. in. I think that's always better, even if it is hard to do.

I'll be thinking of you, please update us when you're able.

Bullet will be fine. Don't worry BR, the very fact that the cops investigated and closed the case once helps you. Did the DA get some kind of new evidence? I don't know much, and what I do know I learned from Law and Order, but don't they have to have some kind of a reason (no matter how dumb) to reopen a closed case?

I'll be pulling for you both.

Hey gang. Bullet is home with me again. I had to post a huge bond to get him out, and the club is throwing a benefit this weekend and one in January to raise money to help pay for our lawyer. The lawyer is thrilled with the case, says it's going to be a cake-walk to prove it was self-defense.

The case was never officially closed, and there is no statute of limitations on a murder case. We were led to believe that it was going away, and the investigators even apologized to us when they called and said the warrant was being issued. We are pretty sure that the man's family who died is bringing pressure to the prosecutor, which is why it's coming to a head now.

Either way, Bullet defended himself and that will come out in court. He was right, he saved a friends life along with his own, and that's what matters to me.

Thanks for letting me vent, thanks for the support, as always, you guys are awesome.

That's excellent, BR! You guys really don't need this kind of drama in your life, that's for sure. Sad for me to admit (but it's beginning to look like I'll never run for president so who cares?) but I've been behind bars before too. Three times. (Nothing too bad, I just don't drive very well...make that extremely recklessly and dangerously. See the movie "The Longest Yard" and you will understand better.)

When you are behind bars, time slows to a standstill. Everyone else is going on with their lives, eating steak dinners and going out with their girls, you are rotting away. And at the end of the day, you realize that you will never get that day back again.

I'm betting that Bullet really feels good tonight. Give him a hug for me, and not in a gay way either.:o

Sure, BTS, I can give you specifics. I can tell you the whole story, if that's what you need.

Funny to me how the rest of the group just added their good wishes, support and love. They didn't need any more info except that someone they cared about was in trouble. I got your inference, as will anyone else who reads your post.

A person who claimed to be a friend and was prospecting to become a member of the Blue Angels called Bullet late one night, claiming to have been jumped, and mugged. (This story turned out to be BS) The people who mugged this "friend" were still in the area, and the "friend" (Slick) was hoping for some help. Bullet is a big man, and Slick was hoping to keep a possible fist fight fair, and not be ganged up on by a bunch of thugs. Having Bullet and another brother there should have assured that. When Slick, Bullet and the other brother got to the area, Slick saw one of the men who'd jumped him. Pushing out of the back seat, he hollered at the guy "Remembr me, mother-******??" Bullet had seen only two men, one took off on a bicycle, and the other ran on foot, and Slick chased him. Bullet sat back, not concerned, because this was a fair one-on-one fight. Then came the sound of gun fire from the porch. It was dark and there were no porch or street lights, so no one saw the guy sitting on the porch. 5 seconds after they got out of the car, they were being shot at. Bullet drew his weapon, fired a round toward where he saw the muzzle flash, heard Slick say he was hit and fired 3 more rounds into the ground to keep everyone's head down so they could all get to the car and get the hell out of Dodge. A week later, the Detroit homicide department is pulling me out of my house at gun-point, serving a search warrant on the house, looking for the gun that killed this guy.

That's the story in a nut-shell. Got questions? Want blank spots filled in? Ask. Because I'm not ashamed of what Bullet did. His life and the life of someone else was threatened. The person who began shooting made a conscious decision to raise the stakes from a simple thumping to a deadly confrontation, and he lost. Had Bullet not reacted the way he did, he and Slick would probably both be dead.

Sorry BR not a sheeple and I think wanting the facts are not too much to ask for. I do not care if it is my son or wife........... who killed someone...........

Jussss the facts mam

Make sense????

Ok let's start here............

"A person who claimed to be a friend and was prospecting to become a member of the Blue Angels called Bullet late one night (on the phone while they mugged him?), claiming to have been jumped, and mugged. (This story turned out to be BS)"

My question would be......... When did this turn out to be horse sh!t? Before or after Bullit killed someone? (did he find out after the fact?) So Bullitt appears on the scene thinking the dood was jumped right ? If so I can see his point of view........

If he knew the guy was not jumped (mugged) then he might have something to pay for........`

That is where a jury will have to decide.......

In your endeavour to prove you're not a sheep, the tiniest bit of humanity and subtlety was obviously too much to ask, but again, I am not ashamed of what Bullet did, so you are more than welcome to ask anything you like, no matter how tactlessly presented.

"On the phone while they mugged him?"

That's a rhetorical, or smart-ass question, right? You're not serious? In case you are, uhh....no, obviously he was not on the phone while he was getting mugged. WTF does that have to do with it?

Slick did get jumped, but the pretenses he brought Bullet into it were false. Someone had tuned him up, and taken his money, but it was a drug deal gone bad, which Bullet would not have involved himself in had he been aware.

And it's "Bullet" not "Bullit."

Next question?

Where did I say "On the phone while they mugged him?" hun?:-3

You said that not me..

But I did say:
