Tony Dungy (head coach of the Indianapolis Colts) is a man Ive admired for years. He is an outstanding example of what is right with the world. In the face of adversity he has always been a sea of calm and fortitude. If ever there were a man to model myself after with no question it would be him. It has nothing to do with his excellence in football leadership, rather his excellence in life I admire. His 18 yr old son commited suicide in Tampa Fl. 2 days ago. It may sound silly feeling anguish for a man I dont know, but I do. Blessings Mr. Dungy. My prayers are with you.

Thats ok, you feel what you feel, yet I have to admit I find your reply somewhat shocking. Not a judgement just my reaction to yours.

Nomad, I read this story before they knew he committed suicide and I got the chills then thinking that it might be suicide.. Mr. Dungy is a man I admire as well. What a tragedy for him and his family. I feel things like this are really none of the publics business they could have kept the details out of the press..

I also send my prayers to the Dungy family.. :-1

In any case, if my co-worker told me his son had committed suicide, I'd be crying my eyes out. I have no idea who Tony Dungy is. I've only got so many tears, you know.

I guess I dont need a personal connection to feel empathy for someone. When a tragedy strikes I can feel pain. I like it like that.

I feel this kinda thing sometimes, the tragedy strikes away frm my home and I feel like its in my own home. Then when tragedy strikes my own home I feel seperated like its a distant thing. I deal with the fall out of the problem then mourn my loss inside, privately in my own way.

I understand somewhat what your going through.

Bless ya son.

We are all spiritual beings, some of us are conected to that aspect of ourselves and some are still searching. Its all a process, whichever its ok, we go at our own individual pace, in our own way. We all share this planet together, via different experiences, yet with the essentially the same purpose. Its a wonderful journey all in all. The tragedies are our tools as well as the blessings. We all go through them.

You are wise, as always. Tragedies can be blessings, but sometimes the journey is a long haul....................

It seems that way but in reality its merely an instant, a flash. Thats why each and everyday is meaningful and we should strive to be purposeful.
