He is without a doubt one of my most prized musicians and i can listen to his works from coast to coast (true story) I just recently heard bout his new greatest hits collection from my friend at umvd, and i have to say, just the details were absolutely amazing. Its a double disc, remastered collection of all the greatest hits. Im gonna get it later tommorow, but just wanted to see what everyone thought of the cd. Later

Haven't listened to him in years. Some of his stuff I liked (Tea for the Tillerman) but a lot of it his voice just kind of grates on me!

I love his music. His version of Father and Son is the best but then I suppose he did write it.

Whacked out ? Nonsense ! He left fame and fortune for a higher purpose. He followed his heart and left adulation behind for the simple message of love. How is that whacked out ? I call it courage and find it inspiring. His music spoke of the tender things in life, he took it one step further and turned his words into actions. Please explain how this is whacked out ?

Yes. I do like Cat Stevens music. Catch Bull at 4 was his last that i like but only partly. His previous stuff as excellent. Pity he did what he did as he had a lot still to give to music.

For me, thats simple; cat stevens. I just absolutely love this guy, and for anyone that heard his songs you know why. I just find it amazing what this man was able to do with words and his guitar. In many ways he helped revolutionize the whole playing scene at the time, and even today. My brother at umvd sent me his new greatest hits cd "gold" and i have been listening to it nonstop since yesterday. I really think its a good buy, and if you havent heard any of cats albums in the past, this is a good starter kit. Let me know what you think of cat, and then feel free to leave your acoustic recommendations. Later

I think the question is not "HOW" but why?

These one post wonders REALLY chafe on my pattoottiee and before replying to any thing I look to see if they have been spam posting..... so I did a google for "tunepeg35" ( http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n ... =tunepeg35 ) and sure enough it was a jack pot. It really makes me wonder???? Do they get a % of the sales as they are not linking to any site that could give them credit.

OK my thoughts on Cat Stevens.........as I did like the thread in that aspect...................He was a part of my growing up at the time of his heyday

Gee a 17 year old wayward cowboy setting in the back of a 66 chevy with all his buds and smoking grass to Tea for the Tillerman ..blaring...on the 6X9 Jensen Tri-axles........ HOG HEAVEN AWWW yes those were the days my friend

Hard headed woman

I'm looking for a hard headed woman,

One who will take me for myself,

And if I find my hard headed woman,

I will need nobody else, no, no.

I'm looking for a hard headed woman,

One who will make me do my best,

And if I find my hard headed woman

I know the rest of my life will be blessed --

yes, yes, yes. I know a lot of fancy dancers,

people who can glide you on a floor,

They move so smooth but have no answers.

When you ask "Why'd you come here for?"

"I don't know" "Why?"

I know many fine feathered friends but their friendliness depends on how you do.

They know many sure fired ways to find out the one who pays and how you do.

I'm looking for a hard headed woman,

One who will make me feel so good,

And if I find my hard headed woman,

I know my life will be as it should --

yes, yes, yes. I'm looking for a hard headed woman,

One who will make me do my best, And if I find my hard headed woman...

And I did in NV............. And that is a good thing.....Don't like a person that can't speak their mind.....:guitarist

Posted: Nov 28, 2005 - 4:52pm in Cat Stevens Hey everyone, new to the forums, just wanted to say whats up first and foremost. Did anyone ever listen to cat Stevens growing up. He probably was the most influential guitarist for me and partially inspired me to actually pick up the guitar and play. I was just so excited when he released his greatest hits cd called gold a couple weeks ago. Its a double disc collection, with all the songs remastered, so their almost totally different. If theres any cat fans in the crowd, speak up id like to hear what you think of this legend. Check out catstevens.com if you need some direction. Later

Hes a couple generations older (60+70's) but wow, i was listening to his stuff the other day at a friends kickback and it was both the most relaxing and yet intense display of guitars and words id ever heard. I dont know if anyone got his new greatest hits cd "gold" but after listening to it, im getting a copy for myself. If theres any cat fans out there let me know your favorite track or if anyones heard of it. goto catstevens.com if anyones interested. Later

Incidentally if you Google Arnold Layne you will find PLENTY of references, it's a common user name ( Pink Floyd reference ). So lots of footprints but none of them mine. I subscribe to only one other forum and my username is particular and appropriate to that site.

So sorry man, no dirt for you to dig :wah:
