My brother sent me for Christmas my favorite comic book since I was a child-which my cousin found out after all these years was worth alot of money and sold it to pay his college tuition. But it made me think of the fun of comic books characters and heroes, what were some of your favorites? Here is one of mine:

Every year when I was a child I would get the Rupert Bear Annual as a present. I loved him to bits. Can't post a picture because I'm not sure how :-5

favorite comic book, you ask???
well, let me think....
the Death of Superman story line was incredible. and the entire year that followed where the rest of the Earth's heros had to step up to fill his shoes was amazing.
"Age of Apocalypse" story line in X-men. it was a 15 book series crossing over into 7 different titles. a whole "what if" scenario; what if the biggest bad guy in the world actually DID win and rule the world.
the one story arc that broke my heart as a kid was "Emerald Twilight."Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was unable to protect his wife, family, friends, from complete annihilation. He was the Guardian of the Galaxy and he couldn't save his family. he went completely out of his gourd and tracked down the dude responsible. went against everything he believed in and killed the guy.
it was quite intense. and a good read, if you can find it.
Graphic Novels....
Road to Perdition: Yep the Tom Hanks/Paul Newman movie was a Comic Book. and it was wonderful.
SinCity. if you thought the movie was good, the novels the movie was based on will knock your socks off.
