Sounds like you might be, If their signal isn't password protected any one can access their internet. Thats what I understand of it anyway.

I haven't password protected mine and if someone drives by with a lap top they will have access, it is something I need to get around to doing but since I have unlimited down loads I'm have been a bit slack about it.

Click START, then CONTROL PANEL, then NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS, then NETWORK CONNECTIONS. You will probably see an icon for a wireless network connection.

You must have neighbors living very close.

MOM, If the don't secure there wireless network all fair.. it may not even be them.. could be anyone in the neighborhood that has a router on their cable network connection, pretty common it happens alot.. !! :D If you get a router make sure you have it secure with a password knows as wep.. so no one can use it thats the only way to stop it.

Will they be able to tell you're using their stuff?

Well - No one has said anything yet and we have not gotten a router. We have one coming from Dell - because we want to hook up the Mac too..Does anyone know anything about that?? How to have one that goes from our desk top PC/ or the Notebook to the kids' Mac?? This computer thing baffles me.....and to your question 911 if anyone knows...My nephews company uses a router and you can't tell which computers are on and which are not......

It's simple, you should have antennas for each computer and then you load the soft ware into each compuer that you get with it all, and each computer picks up a signal from the router. I have three running and I managed to connect them myself by following the instructions. It sounds complicated but once you load the soft ware I think the wizard sets it up. It wasn't to difficult just took me half the day to do it.
