Have a State Trooper friend that was in charge of our K-9 unit here. When he retired, he fought tooth and nail to keep his dog. Was even willing to give up his pension to keep the dog. In the end, he was able to bring the dog home with him, he kept his pension, and the dog lived out the rest of his life with his trainer. R.I.P.

Nitro died doing what he loved. Sad, yes...but I hope when I go out, I go out doing what I love, too.

Police dog dies in the line of duty...
our K-9s wear the same badges as all the deputies (on their collars). we had a funeral with full honors for one shot on duty. and we started a community fund to buy them bullet-proof vests.
