I was wondering why my settings wont't give me the option to upload my own avatar?

Is it a privilege that needs to be time/post earned on the forum or am I just missing something?

You need to be a supporting member to up load your own Avatar.

I'll see your lint and raise you 3 potato chips, and an empty BIC lighter:wah:

and no-one ever said how one becomes a "supporting member" Does that involve forking over real money to the forum banker? Or can you get there on post count alone?

The former I'm afraid, you have to pay a subscription rate.

Looks like you'll have to pawn that empty Bic.

What does the money buy exactly? If I were to donate do I get 100% features? And how much is enough? Am I paying for a server hosting cost? Or am I buying dinner for someone?

Thanks for the link, I will consider it........Seems a bit fair for what your asking for versus what you get......I will have to ponder this........I do love avatar's and siggies....

But I will have to meet some more people first before I go dumpin money here.,....

I like the place so far though...

To my mind you're contributing to the 'running' and administation of FG which must cost a pretty penny and take up a lot of admin time....IF you can afford it, it shows appreciation of a great place.

I have tried to use my own avatar, but to no avail. I assume that I must upgrade my membership in order to do this. Is it true that the money goes to a charity, or is that just a wind up?

I have not been able to use the Forumgarden avatars either. Do I have to upgrade in order to use any of them?

not sure where that idea would have come from - we don't claim anywhere that the fees go to charity. the fees go towards keeping forumgarden running. we did a huge upgrade to the hardware that forumgarden runs on just a few weeks ago, and that was largely funded by the contributions.
