Hi Karazepapa

Great portrait.

I see you also enjoy fishing, I too enjoy this pastime and find nothing more relaxing than casting a fly, and whats my favourite fly, THE MONTANA.

The fly fishing season here in Scotland is closed just now until April, so Im making do with pike, still they can be great fun on the fly.

Nice to meet you.

Hi Mr Karaze as a Fox. Grin. Ice fishing sounds totally awesome! I can see you out there on some frozen lake in deepest Big Sky Country, in your blue regulation police longjohns, and furs and more furs, in a rather igloo-like tent sounding your siren at the fish, and belting them over the head with yer trusty nightstick when they poke their heads out of the hole you've cut to see what the heck;s going on.... This may of course just be a maidenly fantasy....... do you have this effect on all women????

KarazePapa wrote: Nice to meet you too. We have winter fishing right now. Ice fishing to be exact. I have some pictures of some of the trout I have caught. I would love to fly fish in Scotland. Great fly that is your favorite, catch much with it>

Pops

I look forward to seeing you images KP.

Yes the Montana is the first fly out of my box, and if nothing is doing I try all sorts of contraptions, but I always return to my old faithful Montana.

I dont think Scotland is what it used to be, especially were Salmon are concerned, the over fishing of sea and rivers have taken its toll on stocks.

There is still some wild fishing to be had but the catch is usually small, most folk in these parts head out to Stocked Fisheries, not really my cup of tea, but it does offer some nice fish and chance to practice the cast.

Iv included a pic of some Rainbow trout I caught at my local fishery, the Rainbow isnt native to the uk, but it does offer great sport.

You mention Ice fishing is that the same method used by Eskimos ?

Is it trout that you catch this way?

All the best

I LOVE him Abbey. Thankyou !!! Have saved the pic. By the way the email notification of your posting had two hot red chillies in my politically-correct email program. It was warning me that your post contained something not quite nice... and possibly allergenic - traces of NUTS.... guffffffaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything 'cheeky' is obviously my kinda critter!!!

Hey it's dawn - and I gotta go out for a run before the temperature gets to 100 degrees.... catch y'all later.

There's lots of technology around. The real genius is having the creative idea, making the effort to harvest all the photos, assembling them the way you have - it's not haphazard, and harnessing the technology to serve the idea. Bloody brilliant!!!

I'm working on that name... Aussies have a bad rep for always shortening everything.. brekkie, cossie, cardie, uni... kinda thang..

SixY...... um... sexY... (just the same with a slight New Zealand accent) yeahhhhh... now that has a nice ring to it.

Here's to ya! SexY!!!

On the subject of NUTS - a few years ago they used to have a big poster ad in lots of pubs here... Picture of a big beefy aussie bloke, in shorts and work boots, knees splayed, beer in one hand... akubra.. and the caption was something about Nibbling Nobby's Nuts.. the brand name of the snack being advertised. It's kinda gone into the aussie vernacular now.

SexY - that sure looks like Nobby's having something nibbled!!! Awesome pic! Snooze Control - kangaroos are amazing. They are almost exactly the colour of the landscape and hear you coming way before you see them at all. Stand dead still and just watch you. Then take off like a shot - if you get too close. Except for the big Daddy Male of course, in whose way it is not a good idea to get... he can rip you open..

By the way, you can hear the delicate trill of the sulphur crested cockatoo here
