My mother died from complications due to MS. Whenever i hear the word MS i need to talk about it. It is of interest to me how others experience it and cope.

i guess you are not taking seriously what is ahead of you. u sound like a young person & MS will continue to affect your life. thats a good comparison microsoft but its more than that. i don't know how to respond to your reply.

I am one of the ignorant folk. I am only vaguely aware of what is involved for a person living with MS. Could you let us know what you deal with as a result of the disorder? Is it an obvious disorder or does it only become visible in later stages?

Perhaps sometime in the future we can share a cyber beer, and curse our respective CNS's. I'd like to compare symptoms and coping mechanisms, so far humor, and debating have been good medicine.

My problem is not the loss of myelin, but the direct destruction of nerves, crushed by collapsing spinal discs. Different mechanism, same result. :-6

I to was mis-diagnosised after breaking my neck..Yes I still have nerve damage..MS is deadly... RICHARD PRYOR SUFFERS FROM IT AFTER HE WAS BURNED OVER 80% OF HIS BODY.. NERVE DAMAGE, AND IT'S PAINFUL..

My mother was mis-diagnosised... thankfully, but all the symptoms where present. Turns out it was nevres that where under pressure from a cervical injury acquired years prior. Surgery helped, but she still to this day c/o of discomfort.

I kept silent, in the cyber world, about my condition for a long time. Not from shame or unwillingness to share, but because I did'nt want to inhibit the sort of thrashing I sometimes deserve.

I'm an engineer by profession, and have become fascinated by the electro/mechanical interfacing of the brain/nerve/muscle system. I'm also extremely grateful that it's my body, not my brain that's affected.



Noticed your concerns about vision, have some myself as diabetes is becoming an issue with lack of exercise. Will start looking at text-audio software as a contingency plan.



Am interested in comparing notes on health, for example, are you developing mobility issues, I progressed from cane, to walker, to scooter, to power wheel chair --kept one at home and another at work, finally had to give it up when I could'nt bend enough to load into a vehicle, some consulting now and then is good for the ego.

It is amazing the things people can cope with and still be gentle, kind and patient. It makes me thankful that my problems are so few and my admiration goes out to you. If only I could be a better healer I would want to heal you all. :-1
