No, I would not. But I have two ponytails in my hope chest-I have only cut my hair twice in my life-they could have those locks if they asked me that question.
*and they are several shades lighter blonde, I must be old now!*:wah:

Crab cakes-oh yeah! All the yummy seafood he would want, with hush puppies and ice cream cake for dessert. I wouldn't make him eat his veggies if he didn't want to...................................

Oh man...a girl after my own heart.....ice cream cake....then, crab cakes! :-4

When we sit to pray before dinner do you hold hands around the table?
And Finally, explain the 30 dollar 3x9=27, 2 dollar bellhop stealing wher'd the other dollar go?,... give a dog a bone this old man came rolling home question. PLEASE!
Well, if they got a cut rate of $9, then your math of 3 x 9 = 27 is correct.
30 - 27 = 3
They should have each received one dollar back.
I don't see an extra dollar in the problem. Only problem I saw was getting the change. The bellhop was given a $5 bill, then gave each man a dollar. He obviously gave the $2 back to the night clerk, or they would have mentioned him loosing his job for stealing or something. So the bellhop had to stop and get change somewhere-I just sent him to the kitchen to shoot dice and make some moola of his own.
SOJOURNER wrote: Which degree has been the most helpful to you in your life?
The PhD has opened many doors to me. I can now teach at college part time, and that is fun. I can talk with scholars and go places to research that I couldn't before.
And in a real emergency-like when my husband was in the hospital last year-I pulled out the Doctor part, and his medical attention increased.
SOJOURNER wrote: Who has had the greatest influence on your life?
My father-who brought us all up in a Christian home, and taught us how to live and share with each other. I always think of things I do, and ask, would my father be proud of me for this, or unhappy about it.
As a Christian, how do you account for archaic human species ? In the late 1800's a female skull was unearthed leading to the discovery of upright walking man dating back to 400,000 B.C.
Early hominids had large brains and an upright gait and theyre thought to have evolved between 3 and 6 million years ago.
Homo Sapiens made an appearance 1.6 million years ago.
Our own species is about 250,000 yrs old.
Who were these beings to God and how do you account for the timelines ?

I believe in the creation of man by God. As far as timelines go, I do not know how far back they go. I do not apply Usher's theory of an exact date to the creation of Adam. It could have gone way back further then the 4 centuries plus BC he suggested. Also, carbon 14 dating of these fossil remains is an issue that needs to be constantly reexamined. There are faults with the system, due to different climatic period and the presence of carbon in the air. (There are reference materials on the internet about this, not linked with Christian or anti-evolution sentiments, especially among marine studies) I am not a scientist that can give you more exact data on this, and I am sure the majority will disagree with my beliefs. But I think you expect a truthful answer from me about what I believe.
Do I personally claim descent from Lucy and the other austrolopithicans? No, I do not believe in that. Do I believe the creation of man was a Divine Act of God? Yes, I do. That is where faith comes in. How do I account for the scientists timelines? Well, they construct their timelines along with what data they have, which is not complete. They continually research and update these hypothesis'. Just like the General Theory of Relativity by Eistein has been redefined by later physicists and their research. Will this work continue? Of course it will. Will it answer all of our questions? I think not. I do not think we will truely know the answers until we meet God face to face, and then everything will be made known to us.
What is the relationship of these beings to God? That I cannot answer. I believe all life is sacred, and that all have spirits, and when they have left this Earth go to a better place with Him.

Like not! Let's go shopping at the mall during the Superbowl instead! Where's Arnold's credit card?

Ok thank you for taking the time here, but lets get off the scientific aspect for a moment ok ?
By acknowledging these beings existed and assuming that their lives predate our own historical timeline. Who or what do you think they were ?
I assume you believe all creatures to be of Gods design, where do you suppose they fit in to the plan ?
chonsigirl wrote: I believe they were created beings, as the animals and birds and fishes.
Created by God.
But not the last of God's creations, which was man.
I do not believe we evolved from them.
Why do you think they so closely resembled modern man ?
You could pick apart the obvious differences but in essence they were very much like us albeit less developed socially, intellectually and spiritually I imagine.

Nothing about this raises questions for you ?
No, it really does not raise questions for me, concerning my faith. They may or may not have been like us, but we only know what scientists have found and hypothesized about their lives.

1. The scientist are hell bent on discovering the missing link and in their zeal to prove God a liar they assembled the skeletons to look more like man than they are! What they are in fact are extinct apes.
I dont think so. Im not so sure its us or them with scientists. After all theyve spent yrs devoted to The Shroud of Turin. I dont believe they were trying to disprove Christs burial gown, rather just prove that it was or wasnt. I also dont think scientists as a whole are trying to prove God a liar. Cmon thats not what science is ! Science is fact finding, unbiased justice from improper influence.
How is it that you know the various ancient "beings" were apes ? What are you basing that on and how do you account for the clear evolutionary processes involved ?
2. There is no accurate dating system available beyond 14000 years.
What is your reply based on ?
3. I remember a scientist that assembled a whole humanoid species from one tooth and wrote it up like it was a great find and later it turned out to be a tooth from an extinct pig.
Ok. Error.
4. I have to laugh at scientists who keep claiming they have proof for evolution when each time they publish something it begs way more questions than it gives answers for. Yet many believe it wholesale and accuse the creationists of the same thing.
Science is an evolution by nature. If it werent it would mean we have all the answers. We dont.
It takes just as much Faith to believe in evolution as it does to believe in creation.
To keep an open mind doesnt require faith as much as it requires curiosity. Im not convinced science and divine presence cant coincide.
I wonder if God doesnt get an occasional chuckle out of his children that have his omnipresence all figured out and wrapped up tidy with a bow on it.
