How would your life been different?

Post by SOJOURNER »

Let's pretend. :D

You are 16 years old, but you are now a person of the opposite sex.. Your youth was spend in the same family as you were really brought up in. You have the same intellect, same humor, same abilities............. the only thing different is you are now another sex and you know nothing of this current life you now are living.

What would you look like? Paint a word picture so that we can see this new you.

Highlight the journey your life would have taken -- occupation, friends, family, hobbies...... Express what this "opposite sex you" would have done with their life.

OMG........to be 16 and a male - I'm assuming I would have been male my entire life to 16. I would not have put up with the beatings............I would never have been raped my male family members...........It would not have taken me until 32 years old to figure out the mess.

On the other hand...........if I were male in my family........I might have thought it was OK to rape my cousins...........I may have passed on the anger to my boys so they would think it was OK to beat women. It would have taken me years to figure out the mess I had made.

OH Geez - I guess I'm not the family anyone would want to answer this question.

I cannot answer this question as a male in my family because I'd never want to be any of them.

FAR, you need to let loose. It is 'PRETEND". Do try again........... :D

So sorry to hear that NV. That's really awful. It made me feel sick to the heart. I just hope your life is free now.

I love GOOD counselors..............I don't feel the emptiness or sorrow anymore. I KNOW how to live this life I've been given and feel very grateful for a chance at happiness and love.

There is no more sorrow in my life. Sometimes I have to watch my hurt levels......DUH.

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

I don't want to think about it. I grew up unfairly privileged in an unfairly cruel world. Life wasn't great fun for girls in foster care.

Life could not have been fair to anyone in foster care. How sad to NOT have a biological family..........:-1

I have already mentioned in another thread that I was adopted by my grandparents. My grandfather was an orphan himself. He told us once of one of the games that the lads played in a wood next to their home.

It was a variation of 'he' or 'hit' or 'tag', only the one who was 'he' chased everyone with a lump of wood with a nail in the end that was literally used to 'hit' the prey.

He reckons that he was hiding behind a very high bush, about 6 feet tall. A chase was coming towards him and the prey cleared the bush in one leap. This was a lesson about fear.

My grandmother was a tomboy when she was a young girl. Often outdid the boys, she reckoned. But her mother died when she was 15 and she took over as the family's 'mother'. Seven brothers and a sister. She was a hardworking wonderful woman. As a mother, she had a way with kids. She fostered problem kids often, mostly to provide me with playmates. But she had a way of bringing them out of themselves. She was great.

Here I am 16 years old and never have had a date with a boy and don't think I ever will have. I am 6' 3" tall, skinny, and my nose is way to big. I am taller than all the boys and girls in my school and they make fun of me, but that's OK, I can still out jump and run faster than most of them. Also, I can play basketball better than most of them and if I could just put on a few more pounds I'd be a terror on the football field.

If I'd been a girl. I would have been the one at the front of the class being scholarly. At the front where the teacher could see if anyone was trying to pick on me because I was so ugly.

I can't think of any teachers at my school that I might have had a crush on. Maybe Saltmarsh, the geography teacher and back up sports instructor. He was just about young enough. The boys would have been a nightmare, destroying all my self-confidence as they emphasised my ugliness in specially made jaunts and crap rhymes. They would have teased me to tears.

God knows how things would have worked out after that. I would probabaly have made more girl friends at school, and would have been favourite for homework. I think I would have hated the coarse male attention, if I ever got any.
