OK now my serious questions...

How did you meet your husband, and what was your first attraction? How did he react when he found out you had 4 kids? I imagine him a daper don, tie wearing professional man is that accurate?

And please may I have all my questions in seperate posts?:D

I actually first met my husband over an internet forum back in '97. It was a history forum, and he was the hot guy there. He was a Roman character, and I the mousey little Greek girl. One day I PM-s him, and asked him what how the weather was in Rome. He told me he grabbed his newspaper, and really looked up the weather in Rome. He daily PM-d the weather conditions, until we started talking, and one thing led to another until we fell in love.

We decided to meet after about 6 months, and I invited him on a family vacation to Rosarito, Mexico. With the 4 kids and me. That didn't phase him a bit, he flew out-and with 4 little chaperones, we had a wonderful time and fell in love even more. He waited 2 years while I finished my grad classes, then came out to L.A. and took the youngest kids and me back with him, stopping in Annapolis to get married, and got us a lovely home to live in. He is retired from the federal government being assigned to the Coast Guard for over 12 years, before that he was with the Naval Department. I think I loosened up the professional in him with my California life style, and he has always been a good husband to me.:)

I am sorry Sojo.

Oh, I get my hair trimmed once or twice a year, when it is annoying enough that I sit on it. I like my hair long. I only cut it short twice in my life-didn't like the way I looked both times, so I have kept it long.

It is up at school anyway, most of the time, in a little schoolmarm's bun..............

Far Rider wrote: Bible question for ya Chonsi?

Since God can't sin, and Jesus is God incarnate, when the devil tempted him in the wilderness was it really a temptation for Jesus?

I asked because it's the only question my father has never been able to answer to my satisfaction. I'd like your opinion. Before you answer I know your not a thealogian, but I don't want a theological answer, I want your opinion.

I don't think it was a temptation for Jesus at all.

The Devil tempted Jesus with food first. Jesus could make food anytime he wanted to, like in the 5 loaves and 2 fishes. That wasn't even a decent offer.

Second, the Devil tempted Jesus to throw Himself down and have the angels save Him from harm. Jesus didn't like that shallow use of angelic beings, and warned the Devil not to tempt "the Lord Thy God."

*Satan must have shivered when he heard that*

Lastly, the Devil tempted Him with the rule of the whole world. Some temptation, Jesus was already Lord of Heaven, that was a second rate offer.

The Devil had no way to tempt Jesus, because everything already belonged to Him. Jesus gave it all up, for us.

There was no temptation, only Divine Love from Jesus.

ok next question then.

Christ was born as a babe, and as a babe he had finite abilites, he certainly had a limited brain in terms of function and had to be cared for and was vulnerable like every child is.

Do you find this difficult to believe, that God would limit himself in this way? We also note that he was raised under the authority of his parents as well? So he limited himself to under the authority of the very people he created... Do you find that amazing?

It is always amazing to think of what Jesus gave up for us.

As a baby, his parents took care of Him. Joseph took the family down into Egypt for safety, and then returned to Nazareth years later.

Jesus took upon Himself the life we live, to set an example-that all wordly temptations could be overcome. He placed Himself under the authority of his parents-remember the story of Jesus in the Temple questioning the religious leaders, who were amazed at His knowledge? Jesus asked some pretty searching questions I bet, to flabbergast them. But when Mary and Joseph showed their concern that Jesus was gone so long, He obediently went with them. It was a precursor to the story of the Cross, that He would be obedient to the course He had set out for Himself. The Death, Resurection, and Eternal Life.

Far Rider wrote: Well thas kinda what I was getting at.... If he can't be tempted how can he feel the same things as us when we are tempted? I know he can because I can identify so much with the words fo scritpure lived out in his life on earth. But its that one tempting from the devil that I cant quite wrap my brain around!

Jesus feels like us, because He lived as us.

Did he get hungry and thirsty-sure He did, after 40 days and nights. But did He give in to that, or continue on fasting and praying to fortify Himself to be strong? He continued, and made the Devil slink off a looser.

So Jesus felt these things, but being in constant communion with God the Father, He overcame them.

Which is the example the Bible sets for us. Temptation is always easier to resist, when in constant communion with God.

*and I am fallible, as are all, to temptation*

*out of context: told for 2 days by the ortho:no candy, chocolate or p-nut butter, guess what I've been hungry for every since I've been home now?*

From a teachers perspective you must realize children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, do you think a good thing to say might be, it was a lucky guess ? That way he develops a good, lucky feeling.

Oh Nomad, I never say that. I always tell them something encouraging, like, "That was a great answer! You have brilliant mind!" Something that will make them wat to keep popping out those answers!

I'm grumpy due to my neighbour upstairs from us getting in at 1.30 roaring drunk and deciding to get experimental in the kitchen and make something with the loudest blender in the world. Not just once as well but many times in the space of about an hour,..... the pain in the arse!

He was either perfecting some dish for masterchef or more likely being the retard that he is, was enjoying making a vrrrroooooommmm noise with it.

Also, if I read the word, cartoon', or, In Defense of Chiptbeef, once more I will hurt someone today

.....whats my question?....do I have a question? ...yes! ....I dont need the whole story...I can fill in the blanks, but for artistic authenticity....just tell me what you are wearing whilst seated at your comp ;)
:) Well, I have a lovely multicolored sweater on, with black velvet pants, and my hair is done back in a long braid with a matching ribbon. (since I just came back from being the music director tonight I dressed up, I don't have my PJ's on- yet which have Felix the Cats all over them)

*go upstairs and kick the masterchef next time you even think of reading about ChiptBeef!*

Oh, drawing. My daughter is an art major, and I am in awe of her drawings. The attachement is one she drew for me, for one of my journal articles on the Maya-she copied it from a vase at one of the museums in DC. I can only draw crummy stick figures. My bedroom is filled with her artwork-from pottery to canvases. I have a private art gallery that surrounds me!

And ballet-I love dance. My daughters danced and were very graceful, went on pointe and everything. I was always in awe of the beauty of dance in a performance.

Favorite artist-Van Gogh, Starry Night is my favorite. A breath taking picture of eternity on canvas.

And if I could go anywhere in the world for the sake of art, Italy for painting and Vienna for the music.

:wah: My grandfather used to go every year to the priest, and tell him at Lent he was giving up watermelon. The priest would tell him that watermelon wasn't in season, and my grandfather always replied "I can resist that temptation!"

My grandmother always gave it to him when he got home, and we laughed and joked about that every year.

We don't lay them, we just carry them around until Easter time, to hide them for the kiddies.

Oh, I think I will do that when it is almost Easter, we'll have an Easter egg hunt..................hmm, I will think of some prizes too!:)

I am going to plant a garden, and am planting a small vegetable garden along the back, but a big flower garden. Veggies in the back, and lots of lovely flowers all over, with a little walkway through it.

And a bunny run, I plan to get a bunny maybe sometime soon. I want him to have a nice safe area in the summer to run back and forth, among the pretty flowers-but safe from my veggie plot!

I had a big bad bunny a few years ago. He dug out of any bunny run we invented and was regularly returned to me by long suffering neighbours - with a smile on his face and drooling stolen vegie. He was too fast for the local dogs, terrorised or wooed the cats and had his wicked way with the family guinea pig. He must have made it finally into the bush, where I like to think of him serenading the kangaroos.
