If we go to this site our number is registered & it will be listed where for 5 years? listed for advertisers or listed as a don't call number? I can't open the site at work or I would read further. Am I totally off in left field (as usual)

I had a phone number you can call too. I may have deleted that. But the number I called said it was the FTC I think. The email also gave me the website so when I failed to enter my phone number right I went to that website. Then they sent me a email with a link to confirm it.
The phone call said it was for every member in your household. I didnt understand what that meant.
I got a reply email to confirm and I did it.

I bet yer right. I didnt think of all the friends we have here not in the US.
And yes JAB is right about charities. They can still call. I made the mistake of giivng to the Sheriffs and they gave my name to all low agencies like the National Highway Patrol Memorial Fund and Law Officers Defense Fund etc etc. The National Memorial called back to ask if I was sure I would send what I pledged on a scale from one to ten. I didnt like my veracity questioned by someone who was asking for donation. And then they asked if I was comfortable with that amount. It was not a lot really. But then they started sending me a monthly statement asking for more. I told them I did not mean monthly but annually. But they still kept sending a monthly statement. I just quit giving to all. My daughter gave to vets. I mean stuff from the house to sell. But I found out there are many many vet organizations. Vietnam Vets, Disabled American Vets, paralyzed Vets, etc. We still give to them if we have stuff to get rid of. I dont do garage sales.

That is exactly the email I got. I just googled it and found nothing. But I am just sure I heard something on the news about it too. Oh well, I have a lot of minutes built up. II did actually call the number and messed up on the phone number I put in so went to the website and registered and got a confirmation back.
