6 Weeks Pregnant!!!

Post by DesignerGal »

Not me, but my cousin is! She was diagnosed with PCOS, and has been trying for 2 years! I already sent her pacifiers. This is the first baby from our generation in the family so its really exciting!

I am so excited I had to share the news!!!! Hooray!

I do, however, have a question! Her mother had what they call a "lazy uterus". Does anyone know if that is hereditary?

My sister says not to buy her anything until after the 1st trimester because I will "jinx" her. I cant help myself, should I wait?

I didnt mean to fool anyone into false excitment for ME with the title of the thread...sorry!

Ohhhh...I wish I could help with housework!! She is in Geprgia and I am in Virginia! And she is a devout Christian, so I dont think the CHippendale show will work...but thanks for the ideas and warm wishes!

I tried to google it and cant find anything. This was back in the 70's, so its probably something more PC now, who knows? Im glad to see you're still posting which means you probably arent banging your head against a wall, and that's good!

DesignerGal...Congrats on the great news!! Still praying it's you in the future too, as you've shared with us. I haven't forgotten, so hang in there! Now I wonder if the term "lazy uterus" is the same as what my problem is....I have an "incompetent cervix".....(lovely term isn't it?!)

When I get pregnant I have to have my cervix sewn closed around 12-14 wks along otherwise I will lose baby as happened once. (Sorry to the men if I made you a little queasy!)

YES! It is something very closely related to this! My aunt was 5-6 months pregnant and lost the baby because of the lazy uterus/incompetent cervix. Do you know if its hereditary??

Thanks for the warm wishes and words of encouragement. I have put my feelings on the back burner for now because Im just so overjoyed about this!!! Its so wonderful!!

And it is at this time that you may get pregnant. "They" say when you are distracted with something positive, this could be your time.

I don't think an incompetent cervix is hereditary....I think it's more the result of an injury or trauma to the cervix...such as a past surgery, biopsy, difficult childbirth..

For example I have heard of women who had to have some of their cervix removed due to cancer...needing a cerclage (cerclage is what the stitch is called).

Here is an informative article about cerclages and incompetent cervix. The procedure i had was the MacDonald type as described on the 2 nd page of article

I also had an emergency cerclage put in when 5 months pregnant because i was dilated...but it still failed and delivered prematurely. My Daniel died at birth. I do know though, that when the cerclage is in place BEFORE complications arise, the results/statistics for a successful pregnancy are GREAT.

Just don't get to stressed hun, cause I am certain that can cause delays in conception as well.

My ex was adopted as his mom and dad could not have children and 11 months later his little brother was born. So keep your chin up girl we are rooting for ya. Could I interest you in a cheeky 15 year old for a couple years ahahahahahaha

DG....my daughter rang me today....she's 38, has a 15 year old daughter and has 2 ovarian cysyts removed which left it less likely that she would conceive again.....anyway....she's pregnant...I'm in total shock as she only been with her new guy a short time....BUT...she is SO happy.

Your time WILL come...just enjoy the exercise he he he. and relax. Enjoy your friends and families babes and one day the joy will be yours. xxx

Dont tempt me. You might not ever see your teenager again! Just kidding! Im not sure if I mentioned it or not but here, its a 7 yr waiting list for a baby, and in CHina (out other option) I have to be 30 at the time of the application, so I have to wait at least 2 years to bring my baby home. But Im serious! I am going to try my damndest to get pregnant!!!

Thanks, minks!
