What's with all the advertising?

I always wonder, when I log onto this forum.....what is up with all of the advertising at the very top of the pages? One has to scroll down to get to the threads.

you don't see it if you're a supporting member. the owners have to pay the expenses of the forum, and adverts are the way, just like commercial tv.

It used to bug me, but it usually lines up with the subject of the thread, so it helps alot with research.

No really, I delete the unimportant ones immediately, keep the good ones, and about every week or two I save those to my hard drive & delete.

before i was a supporting member, every time i posted something an advert for handcuffs or cop catalogs would appear, cracked me up!

So I guess a supporting member would be when you use your Paypal or credit card to donate money to the forum, right? Well, seeing as how i've just lost a job, i cannot do that. So i will have to see all of the ads.
