We have our single parents, everyonce in awhile a teenage mom, and poverty.

I'm just glad we don't have knifings, and all that violent crap.

ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

I agree, there is just so much out there that kids don't need to know so early in life....

I am amazed at the kids these days................some of it is good and some of it is bad. I had 9th graders yesterday and 2/3 of them were just not interested in learning and they were disrespectful to boot - to me AND to their classmates - it was a security calling day. I had 3rd graders today and got hugs........ not just from my class but from kids in other classes I had subbed in - :-4 .

Respectfully of course.

I think all of these things were not as apparent but still existed.

Small town big town.. city life, country life... none of the choices are any guarantee that a child wont make wrong choices. Ten years ago I moved my chidren from New York City to the country. 112 acres, in the woods, next to a river.

My 2 sons watched my sister die of aids years earlier. I was a devoted mother, would have done, and did do everything for them. My oleder so did ok. Graduated college, has a good job, married. My younger son got involved with crystal meth. Im battling to save him to this day.

I did kind of kidnap him. I have him living with me. Hes pretty much my project in life. He seems to be straight now. Ive fattened him up, and yesterday he started a new job. Ive got my fingers crossed. I didnt mean to blurt that out about him. But in regard to the thread.. The children born from the eightys till now, seem to lead very stressful lives. I get so confused and despondent observing them. It doesnt seem to matter... rich, poor, good families, bad families. So many of them seem to be numb to life. The things my children know..... Dads abandon their kids. Parents who get high with their kids. Households where no one is home.. because both parents work. Kids who go to school without money for lunch. Friends who become parents at 14 15 16 17. They know so many things I didnt want them to know, when I brought them into the world. Ah, I shouldnt have written here. Today will be a hard day.

Without having read the thread, just your reply, weeder, why do you say you shouldn't have written here?

Whenever I see you've posted, I click to read what you write. I'll go back and read the whole thread now, to get a better feel of the conversation, but it seems to me that, difficult or not, it's always best to get things out in the open.

Why is today going to be hard? You've begun it by setting a low expectation, so that's one thing, but can you elaborate, please? :-4 and :yh_hugs

I basically told the whole world something I shouldnt have. Weak moment. Actually, again Ill tell the truth... wine moment. I lost my class.. revealed too much.Today, Ill have to put all the mortar and bricks up around myself to try to fill in a hole that I blasted in the wall. Its not right to tell something about someone else. The information paints a picture of him. He is incredibly handsome, hes an artist.. he has tremendous feeling for children, the eldery, and the handicapped. He is also a troubled soul who feels hurts so deeply that he has tried to medicate himself. I guess he is a young man who as a child, knew things that children arent supposed to know. I guess the thread tiltle just hit a button in me. So, I wasnt trying to make the thread about me. It just took me there.

Hey, you think these problems are something? On top of everything else.. last night a bottle fell out of the refrigerator, and fell on my toe. Agony... So now Im getting ready for work.. crying and limping.
