the recent proliferation of post count threads is bothering me a bit. i feel it puts pressure on people. i, for example, feel pressure to remain 'top poster', when in fact i don't really think the number of posts reflects one's value as an FG member. we all have different contributions to make. soon, this month i hope, Bothwell will be here and i won't be online at all. recently i have been in hospital again. in both events, i am not posting. i really would like to let this whole post count thingy go, for myself only. i post when i have something to say, or a smart-arse remark. ;) ...otherwise, i honestly don't want to even look at the numbers. these are just my feelings!:) it's not a contest.

Oh gimme a break.:p

we are here to talk freely because we can't or won't in real life. we know that whatever we say in here stays in here(for the most part) and that there can't be any real retaliation or fall-out like there would be in the Real World.

I can be as big a GoofBall as i want. it's almost liek being drunk. this place seriously lowers the inhibitions.

so, on that note....

I'm going to the Pub and getting nakid. who's coming along??

It is fun to write congrat threads to fellow friends and posters, and it is not aimed to cause anyone pressure on people. I do not think you should feel pressure, LC, who remains the top of everyone's list!

Are You Lonesome Tonight?

~ Elvis Presley

(words & music by Roy Turk and Lou Handman)

Are you lonesome tonight

do you miss me tonight

Are you sorry we drifted apart

Does your memory stray to a bright sunny day

When I kissed you and called you sweetheart

Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare

Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there

Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again

Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight

Spoken:

I wonder if you're lonesome tonight

You know someone said that the world's a stage

And each must play a part

Fate had me playing in love you as my sweet heart

Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance

You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue

Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange

And why I'll never know

Honey, you lied when you said you loved me

And I had no cause to doubt you

But I'd rather go on hearing your lies

Than go on living without you

Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there

With emptiness all around

And if you won't come back to me

Then they can bring the curtain down Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again

Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight

for Nomad and Wolvie. xoxoxoxox

besides i sang this........

Nomad lock the door and turn the light down low

Put some music on that's soft and slow

Fella we ain't got no place to go

I hope you understand

I’ve been thinking 'bout this all day long

Never felt a feeling quite this strong

I can't believe how much it turns me on

Just to be your man

There's no hurry

Don't you worry

We can take out time(your wife won't be home for another 4 hours)

Come a little closer

Lets go over

What i had in mind

Dude lock the door and turn the light down low

Put some music on that's soft and slow

Pookie we ain't got no place to go

I hope you understand

I’ve been thinking 'bout this all day long

Never felt a feeling quite this strong

I can't believe how much it turns me on

Just to be your man

Ain't nobody ever love nobody

The way that i love you

We're alone now

You don't how

Long I’ve wanted to

Lock the door and turn the light down low

Put some music on that's soft and slow

Baby we ain't got no place to go

I hope you understand

I’ve been thinking bout this all day long

never felt a feeling that was quite this strong

I can't believe how much it turns me on

Just to be your man

I Can't believe how much it turns me on

Just to be your Wolverine

I'm sure that post count threads are not meant to put pressure on anyone, they're just fun and don't reflect what we think of someone. It's a shame if people do feel pressure to post more or to post less but the post count threads are not aimed to make people feel that way. And since some of these threads are started by FG's most caring and lovely member, we can rest assured that she wouldn't be intending to cause distress to anyone!!

The first Milestone is '100' when you become a senior member.....after that I didn't find there was any significance in the number of counts per person.

Chris and I had a race for the 1000 mark a few months ago...it was just a bit of fun.

IMO, quality of posts doesn't matter....1 word, 1 sentence, a complete story....it is the communicating that matters. If just saying "hi" to someone thousands of miles away lifts their spirits that's good...isn't it ????

Anyway....What do I know !!!

It means EVEYTHING to me, I want to over take LC I am barking at her heels and I will get her at all costs....

Ok LC you feeling pressure now tee hee hee....

Awww LC don't think of it as pressure to post, think of it as you have been here a long time, you have posted loads because others respond well to you, so this takes your count up and hey think of is as a nice acknowledgement from your peers. Heck it isn't meant to be a competition in posting my gosh it is all just fun. I don't post quality I post quantity and I can laugh at myself and I certainly am not vieing for top spot because I don't really give a rip. It all for the pleasure of being on a great forum :) Smile LC we won't pressure you anymore we will turn the pressure onto BR ahahahaha:D

i think if you truly do not "think the number of posts reflects one's value as a FG member"...then what is this thread about? i guess i'm missing something. if you know that post count doesn't reflect what kind of gardner you are...then you shouldn't be worried about being "top poster"...and you shouldn't really be concerned with letting this "whole post count thingy go". you know you put out quality posts...that is what should matter...right?

i say if ppl want to be fluffy and silly...let them. i love people who do rapid posting. i love BS threads...i love just chatter. nobody should EVER be concerned they are posting too much. that is what this place is alllll about. JMO :)
