So, anyway, I bought the Album it came from {Wild Things Run Fast) then bought Hejira(sp) ....and quite recently my daughter bought me the double cd where she'd re-done many of her most famous songs.

I know it's an old cliche' but I do like how she paints a picture with lyrics.

I recall that BBC show. I'd met her 2 days before that, which as a devotee, was something to treasure.

I didn't discover her until the day the Yorkshire Ripper was arrested when I bought Hejira. It's always stuck in my mind.

I've got all the albums which is well over 20 and there's something for every mood, from folk, through Jazz to rock. Chinese Cafe is superb, especially with the nods to Unchained Melody and Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. As her voice has deepened, the work on her album Both Sides Now is blessed with an incredible richness. Two Grey Rooms on Night Ride Home really does it for me too.

Her influential songwriting is matched by her ability as a painter. How can anyone be that good in two fields?.

i picked up a new artist the other day; KT Tunstall. young gal. not quite sure how to describe it. you can deffinately hear her influences in the songs... BB King, Sarah McGlaughlin, Janice Joplin, Clapton.... it's all good.

Yeah - she's been incredibly successful here and has picked up loads of awards this year. Good stuff

sounds cool.

there is one here in the States. it's on the Country Music channel. i think it's called "CrossRoads" but i'm not sure. anyway...

they take a Pop/Rock/Blues singer and team them up with a country singer. very cool. the one i was that made me a bit more of a country fan was where they teamed John Mayer with Brad Paisley. that Paisely guy is a Hell of a Guitar slinger.

All the musicians are all in the same room, and Jools {he was the keyboard player with squeeze...but as been an artist in his own right for many years} introduces them. There's very little chat on it.

Prior to KT Tunstall's recent success she appeared on this show and turned in a brilliant performance, and the rest is as they...is history.

If they syndicate the show to the US, I think you might find it interesting.

"Later With Jools Holland" is my favourite TV show. I just wish it was on earlier and with a different presenter

I bought 'Amore' by Andrea Bocelli today ....there are tracks with Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder and Kenny G.

I couldn't get it in HMV, Virgin etc...got it in Asda .... LOL

There's other songs where he talks about days spent with his wife, walking in the woods, feeding the swans, arm in arm. It's just really moving and it speaks to you. I'm going to be hooked on this one for a while.

To Everyone else with good taste....Have now listened to this album and it's very different to the other AB stuff i've got....bit of Jazz, Swing etc all with Andreas's magical, beautiful voice. One of these tracks is the one used for the Sig tune to the Winter Olympics on TV. :yh_flower
