Mobile 'Phone Masts

Has anyone here had experience of the 'phone companies setting up a new base station?

Good or bad?

Flexable or intransagent?

I'm asking for all the obvious reasons

It depends where the companies want to site them, in the town i live it seems

if people dont protest, the council give permission and unfortunately once one goes up more follow.

Its just a way of local companies getting revenue from the phone companies.

In this case, it's in the middle of the village, on a road junction, centrally located close between four schools.

The proposed mast is just (15 metres) below the hight at which the must have planning permission (deemed to have prior approval)

@#$%#**&@!!!! CELL TOWERS!!!!

I had this cool towering hill above my house. For decades, I could look out my window and see a wonderful mini-mountain covered with beautiful pines.

Then came the cell companies. They tore up all the trees on the entire hill, even the ones on the sides! Then they erected a massive pole, fatter than eighteen telephone poles, painted it stark white and then put a huge American flag on it to show how "good for the community" they were. Add to that four monster searchlights that play across my neighborhood all night, and the things a freakin' MONSTROSITY! If it wasn't for the flag, I'd have pulled it down with my four wheel drive by now. SHEESH!

Stupid cellphone companies.:-5

Over here the government sold the planning rights with the 3G licences (for all but the BIG masts). Is it the same there or did your council approve the deal?
