QVC and HSN (do you lovely Brits get these or something similar?) ...i have two friends who are absolute addicts! and today i learned my sister has succumbed...do you watch? do you buy? what has your experience been? i have purchased two things, a watch and a piece of royal doultan china when the price was right. i was quite happy with both. and starting in oct.-nov. the holiday stuff is so much fun to view. there's everything from food to jewelry, the clothes are usually pretty awful however. what have you bought? were you pleased?

Oh I have been know to shop at QVC for just about anything, actually got my very frist PC through QVC its still running to this day. Most buy beauty stuff, shoes and anything else that look good. They have really great Christmas decorations during the holiday's for cheap. It really is an easy way to shop.. I not an addict, but I could see how it could happen..:D

My husband has bought a DVD recorder, an Electric Grill (used twice) and an Exercise bench ( Used for 2 months and then given to my son)....he'll watch for long periods at a time, flicking through which drives me mad.

I actually ordered the goods over the internet.

Oh I can't stand those shopping channels that we have, there are so darn many of them, and at least 90% of them sell garbage. There is even a channel that spends the whole day trying to sell u Broadband. I mean who in their right mind would want to watch 24/7 worth of that!!?? :-2

I think shopping via the television is too expensive.

I have a friend at work and he is addicted to shopping this way, he has the all the latest gadgets whether he needs it or not

Oh I agree with that 100%. Though so many people are just tempted because they seemingly are always having sale after sale on these shows. That's because they aren't selling as much stock as they want too, because everyone knows that the Internet is the way to go.

I've bought from both QVC and HSN. Have been pleased with everything so far and the price was good. :)

I've bought the ultrex cookware which I really love. A security camera system for my home which is so cool.....4 palm sized cameras, mounted in 4 different places outdoors, where I can see what's coming and going by looking at the TV. I've bought food from QVC.....Jr's cheesecakes which are devine, crabcakes, Corky's ribs and chocolates. :-4

These channels bore me to tears. They are so full of obvious hype.

Ive been in one of these places in Clearwater Fl. Its huge ! Hundreds of booths for phone calls. Its weird though the stages you see that they present the items to you.....they are so small, big enough for maybe 3 people, thats about it but it looks large on tv.

I get in trouble if I watch one of these channels when they are showing craft items. Espicially the scrapbooking and cardmaking items.

Does anyone else get the channel that just sells loose gem stones?

Do your research, theyre not all the same and there are some drawbacks or expenses involved if you choose the wrong thing. Some pictures are far superior to other also. Panasonic has got the market cornered on picture quality and clarity right now.

They make the lonely and the bored feel a part of something bigger than themselves.

I like seeing the jewlery and hearing about the styles and various products. If I'm channel switching, I try and view the beginning of an hour when the showcase everything that is coming up.

I've bought a few things and have been very satisfied with my purchases. When I wasn't, I returned them without any hassle.

Oh yeah, It's about time to start learning about HDTV and plasma...I do believe the deadline is coming or it is here, that is why all the regular TV's have dropped in price since Christmas, I'm in no big hurry, but If I watch a few of these programs I will have more of an idea of what is what.....I hate how confusing everything gets....:-3

Prices are dropping rapidly. You can even negotiate your price, come armed with competitors prices and they will want to beat it. We ended up buying at Circuit City, I think theyre hungry for a piece of Best Buys market. 2009 is the deadline for all sets to be HDTV ready and by that time the various broadcasters should be up and running with the HDTV signal.

Standard sets will be obsolete as the broadcasts will be in a 16.9 ratio. If you have a 36" set you will be getting black bars on the top and bottom of your pic, so you will need a widescreen anyway, might as well go all the way. My cable co. still cant get me a cable card for high def, the supplier Motorola cant keep up with the demand but even without it the pic on a plasma is outstanding, plus DVD's are coming out in high def now.

When I sit down in front of my tv now its a thrill ! Its like an adventure watching tv now ! :-6

QVC is so mind numbing, I lose the will to live.

Even though its on 24 hours a day, my ex used to video it ????

She even phoned up once and did the inane on-air waffling. I laughed so much I had to go and have a lie down in a dark room.

All those close ups of jewellery - I just used to think "Jeez, look at the state of that guys nails" :wah:

Boy, was I relieved when we moved to a house in an area that didn't have cable :sneaky:
