I watched a program last week where they interviewed both families that switched races for this show. It was an eye opener! The language barrier, the way they were treated and the emotions they all went through were astounding. I plan on watching the first airing of this show, as a follow up to what I had already viewed.

Many, many years ago I read a book about a man who changed his appearance and lived as a black man. It was very interesting and eye opening.

I shall tune in the first show. If it isn't to much like a reality show format, I'll watch it. I would want to see and hear what makes communication between the two races a problem. I don't want to watch a peek show.

I watched it,I think every one should because racism is still practiced daily.

I grew up with black family's in my town and no one ever knew the difference.

It wasn't until I grew up and went out on my own that Discovered that there were people that treated skin color as a personality trait.

Racism is a learned behaver,you learn it from your environment.

I found this show interesting and I will tune in every week If I can.

My one problem is That I find the black family too be close too the middle of the road as if They seem close too white.But that makes no mind and lets them fit into the white bread mold better for this experiment.I know some people think that as far as black people go ,there are good ones and bad ones.That is a load of crap,the same can be said for the white race as far as I am concerned.

I have spent time in places were I was the Different one(s) and I know the feeling of not being comfortable in my surroundings.I'm not saying I know what it is like too be black,I just know what it is like too be different.I think We have alot too learn from this program both as people and as a society if it does not become a cry fest for ratings thing.I think it is a brilliant idea.I had freinds of all races and all of us bleed the same.

It seems to be balanced so far. The kids seem to have more on the ball than the parents. It's funny when the white adults say .... black ... like they're embarassed to say it, then the guy tosses out nigger whenever he sees an opportunity, because now he has permission!

I wonder how they explain the cameras to the people :yh_think

I will never accept the term 'race' as a way to separate my fellow humans from me, but I'll swallow that in the interest of the experiment.

It'll be interesting to see this girl tell her newfound friends that their whole relationship was started on a lie. I wonder how they'll handle that one.

Well, the daughter already came clean with her poetry group, and handled it with utmost class. Big kudos to her!

The adults are all so convinced they are 'enlightened' I doubt they will learn anything at all, but the audience should.

I think your right Acc. The adults appear to have a mindset and won't learn from this experience. The daughter was very classy. Sad though, how the white mother tried to be "cool" and embarassed the daughter infront of her poetry group.

The black couple were so preoccupied with finding fault and ulterior motives in church that they prevented themselves from the purpose of worship.

The white guy was so focused on showing how 'accepting' all white people are, that he came off damn near like a skinhead in the bar. :wah:

They sure did read more into how the white couple reacted in church! The music and spirit was the motivator to get involved in reacting the way they did.

The bar thingy was rediculous, especially when the black woman struck up conversation with the drunk long haired guy. Sad.....she takes his word as gospel for how all white people view their race.

I havent watched this show yet though it has been on the ads over here.

ive watched something similar though. Members from hte public made up to be white black asian and see how the world treated them differently.

Its a sad fact of life that racism exists and its not going to go away in a hurry.

I just make a point of not accepting it and try to bring my son up with the realisation that you respect a person or like/dislike them for the way they behave and what they stand for not their colour, religion, sexual orientation or what they do or do not have. Racism and other ism's that go with it are just hurtful and l have seen felt and experienced it, and for what...

A human is a human is a human, its your deeds and that define you not your skin hair or church, temple, moeque you practice your faith in.

Think the people who swear there is no racism should try living the other life for awhile...

I believe we will one day see less racism, but its a long time away..

We're already seeing less. Alot of the kids don't get what all the fuss is about. That's progress. :-6
