The Neocons Won

Neocons if anything overestimated the need for military action and underestimated the power of the democratic seed that they were so firmly to plant on the lands of the Middle East through the gateway of Iraq.
Project For A New American Century was the most optimistic document the United States and the World had seen since Reagans call to bring down the 'Evil Empire' of Communism.
Yet looking back the PNAIC document seems somewhat laboured and pessimistic in the light of the successful Neoconain venture into the heart of Saddams Regime. A military intervention to remove Saddam, free the people, begin the freeing of the Region, obtain security for the US and her allies around the world and bring Liberty to Iraqis.
The Neoconians have transformed the future of the Middle East and the World by commencing a cycle which will not only make Iraq, but other countries which formerly posed a threat, into free nations who trade, exchange culture and work on national and international problems together.
The issue of weapons of mass destruction, important as it appeared at the time in the light of faulty intelligence, was of little issue or to be frank interest to the Neocon view. Naturally however, it was a serious consideration for leaders who had to protect their populations.
Making the world and the US safe at the same time was the main focuss of the project. Assuring free markets and the supply of oil were no doubt other external issues, even used as part of the thesis, but for the more idealistic Neocons the issue of oil was a flawed argument.
Some lesser committed souls argued that if we want to ensure and obtain a supply of cheap oil, then why not just keep Saddam in power in return for oil and suppressing terrorism? But that was the sort of old thinking blown away by a US President reacting and restructuring after the events of 9/11
Today reports are coming in from around the Arab and Persian world; from Egypt to Syria, that graffitti is appearing on walls calling for elections. Terrorsm is being defeated in Iraq, and most countries around the Region except for Iran, Syria and Lebanon, are learning to fight it.
It is not the US, Britain and the allies that will have to fight beyond the borders of Iraq; the gentle spirit of democracy is blowing across the Region, carrying the news that no missile could carry; a message of peace, hope and security. A message that will even bring down the Iranian Regime.
The infection of democracy; a social and political equation like Einsteins E=MC2, is beginning a chain-reaction as powerful as that of any atomic bomb.
Democracy is a bomb that explodes myths, blows away tyranny, subjection, opression and slavery and is generating the light of a brighter, freer future for the peoples of the Region.
They may have been the bunch of old former 60s hippies who dreamed of peace and freedom for the whole world, and the synopsis and detailed theory they set out may have been scattered to the winds of events and change, but the basic principle the Neocons espoused; 'sow the seed of freedom', is destined soon to change the world.
In Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan the core Neoconian message is proving entirely right; Enable people to gain Liberty and freedom, the right to determine their own future, to elect their own leaders, and all else will flow, friendship, peace, prosperity, partnership, cultural development and yes, even oil. Well I hope so. This region has suffered enough.

This word "NECON" is bandied around this site quite often. I found a test at Christian Science Monitor to see just what one stands for.
It is a 10 question test with 4 choices to choose from.
It might suprise some around here but I rated a Realist......
My Neocon quiz results
Based on your (BTS) answers, you are most likely a realist.
Realist
Realists…
Are guided more by practical considerations than ideological vision
Believe US power is crucial to successful diplomacy - and vice versa
Don't want US policy options unduly limited by world opinion or ethical considerations
Believe strong alliances are important to US interests
Weigh the political costs of foreign action
Believe foreign intervention must be dictated by compelling national interest
Historical realist: President Dwight D. Eisenhower
Modern realist: Secretary of State Colin Powell
Would love to see others results if you wanted to share......

The article is credited elsewhere (on useless-knowledge.com, appropriately enough) to Maria Dami (Jan. 31, 2005), who also penned provocations like "British Cowardice In Iraq" and "John Kerry Is A Stalking Horse For France". The US administration is so desperately in need that its apologists have to publish the same guff on multiple sites, but surely they could improve on such nauseating piffle as this. "Democracy is a bomb that explodes myths, blows away tyranny, subjection, opression and slavery and is generating the light of a brighter, freer future"? I'll drink to that!

Well, Sarasara,
Que'?
The gauntlet is thrown. Do you have a defense? It's kind of important to me because if I'm to slog through such a long diatribe, I'd like to know it's an original idea. Otherwise, I know I can see your name and just skip the message.

I just took the test. I've always found it humorous that some find it necessary to pigeonhole people into specific categories, but I guess it makes for passing judgments easier for bigots, idiots, and other lazy-thinking people. Oh, I'm sorry, did you find offense in the labels you just read? Don't think they apply to you? You're probably right. Consider that when you take the test and read how the Christian Science Monitor categorizes you.

I put "Based on your answers, you are most likely a liberal." in quotes to indicate that I went and did the test and that's what it said I was. You said you were found to be a Realist. How can you think I was trying to say you were anything else? You invited people to go and do the test and say what the result was, I did just that.
I only mentioned your typo because you'd bolded it and bigged it, which seemed an odd thing to do to something you didn't even check afterwards.
