In the UK Walmart took over ASDA-competition is pretty stiff but they also seem to be trying some of the tactics they seem to get away with in the States.

Asda penalised for trying to get staff to quit union

The supermarket giant Asda has been ordered to pay £850,000 in compensation to employees for unlawfully offering them a financial inducement to give up their union rights in a damning judgment by an employment tribunal yesterday.

Asda, owned by US giant Wal-Mart, denies it is anti-union and has accused the GMB of having political aims.


Oh dear, how do you get your workers to join a union? threaten them of course.
