God and the spider

"We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to

forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most

surprising ways. And remember with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of protection."

Over here we too have our spider stories. How Robert the Bruce was being sought by the English and he too hid in a dark, dusty cave but in this case, he slid under a huge cobweb that was covered in soot. The soldier just glanced in and, on seeing the soot covered cobweb undisturbed, passed on by. I actually have great admiration for spiders. Amazing as it may seem, they are the only creatures on earth that harbour absolutely no germs. They also live very solitary lives. There are thousands of species out there, but surely the most difficult to spot is the trap door spider, who digs a hole in the ground, and covers it with a trap door. Any insect venturing too near is grabbed from behind, and dragged back into the pit.
In HIM I place my trust.

Nice, Snoozy. Didya hear the one about Corrie Ten Boom, the Dutch woman whose family were arrested by the Gestapo, and sent to a concentration camp for harboring Jews? She and her sister were in a barracks at the concentration camp together, and they were the only ones who had a Bible- which they read and studied together, and was a great source of encouragement and strength for them. But they were plagued by fleas. Corrie's sister read a Romans 8:28, that " in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." She suggested that, hard as it was to do, they should praise God even for the fleas. They hoped that this would make the fleas go away, but they didn't. Before long, they learned that the reason they had a Bible was because the camp guards wouldn't enter their barracks to search, because of the fleas.
Look what the cat dragged in.

I made a cup of tea yesterday.......then walked out of the room and accidently left it sitting on the side. Today I spotted the cup on the corner shelf, so took the cup to the kitchen and poured the cold tea down the sink. As I poured the last of the tea out.......a big drowned spider fell out of the cup!

I jut thought I'd add my contribution to the thread! :wah:

Sorry spider lovers! ;)
