LC, I agree that Paul said at the time that the banning of kmhowe was much more involved than it appeared on the surface and although I'm useless at finding old threads and so can't support what I'm saying, I'm sure I read it correctly. And so I don't think anyone, in fairness, could think you a big bad meanie or responsible for km's banning.

Not quite sure what I did wrong there...I responded to your humorous post, Amie, in jest, and then to LC's serious post, seriously...and more familiarly because that's we do when we get to know the people in the Garden, as friends. I didn't see it as "feeding off the drama" or as pack mentality at all but then I acknowledge I was only seeing it as I wrote it and not as it might be interpreted by someone else.

I hope you don't leave. I have enjoyed your posts and well, we're all different here but it makes for a good mix, and everyone usually supports everyone else when the chips are down, whatever their differences.

I can't dispute the fact that we did not know what went on behind the scenes with km. However, this is what I DO know. We saw her followed around, thread to thread, post to post, teased, taunted, and tortured. Many of us do not understand how or why that can be okay. Her spelling, or lack of ability to spell even the simplest of words drove me crazy too, but instead of making fun of her, I felt sorry for her. It made me wonder how our school system could fail her so miserably. If human compassion is a bad thing, I stand guilty as charged.

There's one thing I find unusual here LC. You and I, no matter how much we disagree, seem to have a certain amount of respect for each other that we try to politely disagree. Don't take this personally, but you know how I feel about cops and the judicial system in general so that is not the reason at all.:wah: My question to you is this. If she sent you horribly vicious pm's, was it because of you following her bashing her or was it for some unknown reason?

1. I've already written extensively about how I consider everyone adults here. Anastrophe and I get involved in conversations only when we *have to. My life is too busy to micro-manage forum conversations.

My oft repeated homily: Newton's First and Second Laws apply even in the online world. To simplify:

a. Your words have weight. They affect the "world" around you.

b. You reap what you sow.

2. Since this thread is getting "hot" - I'd like to transfer it to our "Hot Topics" section. I don't want to be accused of deleting the thread - I just want to move it to an appropriate area.

I wonder how you'd react if she called you a bitch, Betty? Regardless of all the smilies and what not.

This damn "pack mentality" phrase is getting so incredibly tiresome. There are groups of people here who get along better with others. There are personalities that gel and some that clash. Guess what? That's life. It happens in the real world and it's certainly going to happen here, with so many differing backgrounds and accepted "rules" of behavior from so many different cultures.

Of course, everyone is going to accuse me of siding with LC because we are friends. We have disagreed on things before, (hookers being able to be armed to hunt that whacko in Fla., being one :yh_wink ) but here, yeah, of course I agree with her. Amie, nice as she is, doesn't know LC's personality as the rest of us do. She took what we all know as LC being LC, and made a rude comment. Is it a huge, major deal? No. LC has thicker skin than that. Are we going to bash her and attack her and send her nasty PM's like both of us have gotten lately because of it? No.

This thread, started for the plain and simple reason of someone wanting to whine about *sigh* "the unfairness of it all" is absurd now.

And Paul, loved your post, although I'm pretty sure I have enough brain power for you to get that percentage button on the calculators.

What part of the story are you not following, Far? Kmhowe got banned because she threatened to sue FG. No other reason. Not LC, not attacks, not her rudeness, not us "provoking" her. She threatened to sue Tombstone and anastrophe, and THAT is what got her banned.

Ack see again nobody knows every story in detail unless you are admin. BR I don't know about gang up tactics here, let me just toss my take out here, you are coming to the defense of LC yes? Friends do that, now let's back up and see NV, some came to her defense some remain her friend as well.

And as for banning well we have all already been told by admin how they work. And again I state no one of us FG folk ever see the entire story, and that is likely a good thing cause it could make us very very judgemental. And so back to that, Amie didnt' get banned she left on her own.

I would like to think she got a warning for the name calling. Now if she is strong spirited like some of our posters she may have taken that as a shot against her as opposed to a warning and left feeling hurt.

BUT..... holy hannah folks lets not eat up our old and new members over something like this.

LC does not need me to defend her. What I am defending is the fact that personalities are going to clash and that new folks should make an effort to know what other members are like before they start judging them, just as we all should make efforts to make them feel welcome, and help them learn how folks here are.
