Correct indeed we make the same points.

Here is something funny.....

these kinds of threads draw the most viewership ahahahaha

I think Floppy 'hit the nail on the head' here.

Everyone puts their foot in it sometimes, and I think everyone deserves a chance to 'redeem' themselves. A simple "sorry, I didn't engage my brain before I posted" should sufice most times IMO.

Sometimes it takes time to get to know the 'feel' of a place and the people in it. Sometimes people 'lurk' around for a while before they start posting, some just 'dive in' without testing the water first .

Sometimes 'first impressions' are wrong....we should give people 'the benefit of the doubt'.

I'll shut up because I'm rambling....:-6

BabyRider wrote: That. Right there. People are not forced to respond in any way, just as they are not forced to post here at all. Every single one of us chooses what we say and how we say it. When I do it, I know there may be consequences, and it's a chance I choose to take. Let me repeat that: A chance I choose to take.

I have taken flak for some of the things I've said, both from members and the bosses. When it's a member, it depends who it is I'm talking to how I respond. When I get a "back off" from admin., I back off.

There's this funny thing we're all built with. It's called free will and we all exercise it every keystroke we make.

good evening one and all

I've not been about for a few days so there's been a fair bit to catch up on. (I know I don't post much, but I do try and keep up with reading the threads)

so anyway, BabyRider...I completely agree about the free will but do you think that being a product of our environment affects the way we view things and the way we exercise our free will?

FarRider wrote: But there aint crap I can do about it, I dont run this place. All I can do is point out that I think you sometimes speak your mind in such away as to provoke others into a fight.
I speak my mind as I would speak my mind in real life. I've said, over and over till I'm blue in the face that I am who and what I am, I am honest about it, I never hide my true feelings about things, or what I am. I say things as I see them. You yourself have used the term, "I calls 'em like I sees 'em." So it's ok for you and not me? Or just the way it's done?

FarRider wrote:

I' just can't figure out why the one(s) who provoke never seem to get any slaps on the wrist.

And since you don't have access to my PM box and are also not kept informed of PM's sent to me by administration, I can understand your confusion. Sorry you've been kept out of the loop, would you like to be informed when admin scolds me for being harsh? Anyone else? Because I have no problem letting everyone here who seems to think that I am untouchable that I have been on the bad side of the bosses myself. Sheesh, does it make everyone feel better to know that I've been duly scolded when admin decides it's appropriate???

I don't really think this is the spot for this discussion, but while my parents didn't teach me hatred, I do have serious issues with some of the different races in my area. It's something I learned growing up where I did, just as you suggested.

Stalemate, huh... we both speak our minds yet have different opinions... can we coexist? I think so... I'm just speaking up more.
Of course we can coexist. Just because we don't see things eye-to-eye, it does not in the least diminish my like or respect for you. I wish more people would speak their minds and not pu$$y-foot around and be fake and hide behind facades. It takes too much energy to build a mask, and I'm just lazy. I can't be anything but whoand what I am.

Debate and disagreement does not preclude friendships with me. It's a sad thing that so many have done just that: allowed a difference of opinion to rob them of a friend.

Well I suppose to expand on that I would guess some folks feel pressured to be over nice at times as they may fear what they are posting is mis-read. I think the majority of our posters are nice and sometimes things just go sideways because it was taken in the wrong way. We all can't be eloquent posters I guess.

I feel exctly the same mrsk. I do like to get involved in some of the 'hot topics' but I'm probably not intellectually 'equipped' to do so...but hey....I still have my say.....I am passed the age when looking/sounding daft really worries me. ....there are plenty of people that set me straight:wah: .

Upsetting and hurting people concerns me more. I am totally opposite to the 'I am what I am, lump it or like it type of person'.....I bend over backwards to be tactful, diplomatic etc. I could not have survived in my job had I not worked hard to develop these traits and they have earned me a top job and a lot of respect.

It takes all sorts as they say....and FG HAS got all sorts which makes it a pretty cool if feisty place.

There was no slip up. I called it how I saw it and always will. :)

Having said that, I didn't feel it would be fair of me to just leave and not give "LadyCop" the chance for me to see her response. So ... I've seen it and all that followed.

As "some newbie" I'm not so invested here - do with me (and that) what you will... ;)

No.

But does anyone know if the original question was ever answered? I guess I will answer to the best of my ability just to get this thing over with:

"So I want to know who rules this forum.............the old timers or all the other people who actually put their money into FG support long before the old timers did? You should have supported us. BTW - do we get a rebate on our money?"

Anastrophe and Tombstone rule the forum. Period. Not BR, LC, me, newbies, or anyone else.

No. We dont get a rebate on our money.

Maybe I should start a question thread too!:)

How long does it take to walk from Rockefeller Center to the Atlanta zoo if you have a size 8 (Womens USA size) foot?

Do you think months or weeks?
