wouldn't this have been less ugly if this was handled PM to PM? I mean we always are suggesting we keep our little tete a tetes between ourselves. As for Jives not coming in here to respond immediately who could blame him, tis a lot to digest before he responds.

I hate Yoko..Beatles were gonna break up anyway..there were a lot of other reasons (Epstein's death, George's frustration, etc.) but without Yoko I think we could have seen at least 1 more album. :-1

What...? Floyd fans here? I'd have never guessed from Arnie's name and avatar! Whoo-hoo-I DO like it here! You're a bad boy, Arnold...sniffing ladies' panties and all. I'm a HUGE Floyd fan, especially Syd. Are any of you on the Yahoo! Syd site? I was there for a bit, and then dropped out, for it was just too much to keep up with, but interesting nonetheless. Some of those people are fanatics, but it's all good. I think the owner is actually here in Arizona...we emailed back and forth a couple of times...

FYI: Since this thread has introduced or re-introduced the band to some of you, the Gin Blossoms will release their first single from their first album in 10 years in a few weeks! Look for "Learning The Hard Way" from their self-titled third album all too soon!

What is up with Floyd? I mean, they aren't broke up right? The concert last summer was billed as a reunion with Waters--the rest of them are still a functioning bad, right? If they indeed ARE, what have they been doing the last 12 years? The Division Bell was the first CD I EVER owned! I know Gilmour just came out with a solo record. But seriously, does anyone know the specific reason why after the DB record and the huge tour that followed back in 94-95..then the live CD Pulse..then the Echoes compilation...why haven't they released an album in so long?

Well...I'm sure that some of you guys can help me out with this, but I think Floyd's days are over. The best explanation comes in Gilmour's interview that I just read in Guitar World from last month, I think. He said that the one-off Live 8 performance was great, but he has no intentions of pursuing a reunion tour. And why should he? His new album is great, and he is content spending time with his family and on his ultra-cool houseboat/studio. It is Roger who wants this to happen, and you could just see how thrilled he was playing with The Floyd last summer. If they got together and toured again, of course I'd go...but I don't see it happening. Too much friction from 25+ years ago. That, and the fact that Dave clearly doesn't NEED the money that so many bands reunite for. I respect him for playing the Live 8 show gracefully, letting bygones be bygones. And I respect his decision NOT to re-form just because Roger feels a little sorry for being a jerk for all these years. Pink Floyd hasn't ever "broken up" as far as I know to this day, but I just don't think they are motivated to do it all over again (at least not Dave...I really don't know for sure about Nick and Rick).

C'mon, folks! Help me out with this one!

Hmm, interesting. Yeah, I mean--what was it like 6 years between records when the Division Bell came out? It was never billed as a farewell album/tour..and they continued to release stuff (live album, best of, etc) but I never heard ANY talk about another album after that. Nor, did anyone say they broke up. The only thing you would hear was about Waters joining back up rumors/speculation. But I am curious what happened after the Divison Bell with Dave/Nick/Rick????

Oh, and Jives has been logged in surfing the forum for like the 5th day in the row and he still has yet to respond.

Then don't read my posts. I can't blame you for being so defensive, after being taken for a fool for so long by your pal.

Remember, I said I was done talking to you anyway. Maybe you can return the favor?

Ok, back to the off-topic at hand: Does anyone have Pulse? Exactly how long did that LED light last????

The PC CGA display was a graphics card with 320×200 pixel resolution mode and it hurt to look at it.

The Apple II was the control terminal in Lost, though they stripped the logo from it. It used 24 lines by 40 columns of upper-case-only text, usually with a monochrome green on black monitor. It hurt to look at it too.

Your icon would make a good stew and a neat muff, with enough bits left over to carve a set of dice and a necklace.

[for future visitors, Snooze currently has a photo of a rather twee easter bunny as her icon at the moment]
