Oh, I know word usage can be so very unique. When I first learned Spanish, (because I taught classes first in Spanish, it was years before I taught in English); the grannies would sit me down for hours and make me listen to everything the men said as they walked home from work. It was very colorful language.

"Don't let them say that!" the grannies told me everytime the men used one of those idioms. Oh, those men were mad at me within a few days, pointing out their lingo. But a kid never got away with it in my class!

Naww... (actually, I sorta' did... hmnnn...) I've heard of a similar situation to yours, Jives. I've also got a similar past to yours, as well... that only my closest friends and family are aware of... and I'd like to keep it that way. Nothing embarassing or anything with it... I just find that when your current peers know you a certain way it always seems a bit surreal or you seem to lose a bit of crediblilty if you introduce some different aspect regarding your past... and I've done a lil' of everything too... so... I have several "past lives" I try and keep subdued in regards to the current one...

Well, they are adorable. But, I am on topic--while they bunny pictures, clearly, are NOT. Matter of fact, they are not even on topic for this forum--the music forum. So, I think it is the polite thing to do to stay on topic and ONLY discuss Jives and his past with the Gin Blossoms as he wanted.

Can I please put my 2 cents in. Im not waiting for an answer:

Look guys. I know how much you all like Jives, but he was totally busted in a lie. Its commendable for Far and the others to come to his aide the way they did but do you see Jives here defending them for taking a flogging for him: NO! That sucks and I hope Jives apologizes to them. He should. They deserve it.

Kev and his buddy showed up with hard facts. I took the time and checked them out and so did Snooze. You may not like it, and would hate to think Jives is a liar but he has been ousted with cold, hard facts. It sucks when we find out someone we thought we knew has been lying to us the whole time, I know. But you're all defending him with this "blind faith" and thats not realistic. Its not loyalty anymore. He obviousley doesnt have any feelings of loyalty for you guys if he is lurking around here without saying a darn word, is he?

As for hijacking the thread, more than 3 of us are guilty of that at one time or another. But Kev is right, its "The Gin Blossoms and Jives" not "furry bunnies" or "song lyrics" or "muff diving", so if you are going to hijack the thread, dont get mad at people for putting it back on track. Thats not right.
