Sorry it took me so long to do this, but better late than never, eh? The ridiculous music forum Jives thread kinda got me off on the wrong foot, so I'm here to tell you a bit about myself. I'm a 36 year old man living in Arizona, and although I'm not a rock star, I sing in a local cover band in these surrounding areas, just for fun on the weekends. I am the production coordinator in the printing industry, and I love to camp, fish and hike my way through the desert. My life REALLY revolves around music, and I am very diversified. My faves are: Rock & Roll (Genesis, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, U2, Gin Blossoms, Train, Goo Goo Dolls, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Matchbox Twenty, R.E.M., Led Zeppelin, Hothouse Flowers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Who, Van Morrison, etc.), Jazz (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Rippingtons, Charlie Parker, David Benoit, Michael Franks, David Sanborn, Johnny Hartman, Cliff Sarde, Joe Williams, Dexter Gordon, etc.), Blues (Bessie Smith, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Elmore James, Albert King, Robert Cray, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, etc.), Oldies (Platters, Dion, Drifters, Righteous Bros., Rick Nelson, Elvis, Ventures, Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Monkees, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, etc.), New Age (Mike Oldfield, Anthony Phillips, Peter Kater, Mila, etc.), Ethnic (Gypsy Kings, Clannad, Enya, Marc Anthony, etc.). I guess that just about covers it! I was born in Minnesota, moved to California when I was 9, and then to Arizona when I was 15. At 19 the Tempe, AZ music scene totally blew up, with bands like Dead Hot Workshop, The Refreshments, and of course, The Gin Blossoms getting more notoriety. I was totally transfixed with the Blossoms, who I really thought would 'make it big.' Their local following was more unreal than you can imagine, and I saw them every chance I could. They finally made it in '92 with songs that splashed across the nation, and it was really weird to see the guys I hung out with drinking beer (yes, I had a fake ID), suddenly on Letterman and the like. I was so excited for them! I met a lady with two little girls in late '92, and eventually married...and then divorced in '99. The Nineties pretty much are a blur now, but I eventually got back into the music scene and formed a band in which to just have some fun. In my band, we try to cover a wide spectrum of music, from the eighties hits, to much more complicated Hendrix and Stevie Wonder-type stuff. We know how boring and commonplace "classic rock" bar bands are, so we strive to play music that you never hear at clubs anymore, and it's very tricky and challenging for me to do a Zeppelin song, and switch to Black Crowes and Marvin Gaye and John Hiatt and Stone Temple Pilots and Elton John songs! It's truly great to be still playing after all these years, and we hope to keep it up forever! If you're in the area, come out and see us, or if you're interested...visit our website which contains many downloads and info.
Nice to meet ya!

Hey, Everybody!
Thanks for the warm welcome! Congrats to you, Snugli...I simply LOVE the new baby thing! And no, I'm NOT ready for the heat, but are we ever really? It's going to start up this weekend, with 'ninety' scheduled for Sunday. Great.
A swampcooler is an evaporative water-based form of air conditioning known only to certain parts of the country that stay mostly dry. They are much more inexpensive in energy costs than regular air conditioning, which is also required here in AZ, due to the monsoon period we all love so much in late summer. We in the band wanted something synonomous with the state in which we live for a band name, but we also play on the 'swampy' aspect of the name as well, conjuring southern rock and blues influences. Thanks for the interest.
...and we can never have too many groupies, Di! Woo-hoooooooo!

No actually its a bud that only recently has blossomed. I suppose its along the lines of Superman or Spidey, its been there just waiting for the right time to explode on to the scene. I dont really know what hes capable of yet, we shall see.
